A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ARCADIA ORDERING THE VACATION AND ABANDON-
MENT OF A PORTION OF THE ALLEY LOCATED BETWEEN
SECOND AVENUE AND THIRD AVENUE AND ALICE STREET
AND DUARTE ROAD, APPROVING THE NEGATIVE DECLARA-
TION,AND FINDING THAT SUCH VACATION AND ABANDON-
MENT WILL NOT HAVE A SIGNIFICANT EFFECT ON THE
ENVIRONMENT
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DOES HEREBY DETER-
MINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION l. That on recommendation of the Department of
Public Works of the City of Arcadia, Resolution No. 4634 was adopted
declaring the intention of the Arcadia City Council to vacate and
abandon a porti.on of the alley located between Second Avenue and
Third Avenue/and Alice Street and Duarte Road, in the City of Arcadia,
County of Los Angeles, State of California, more particularly des-
cribed as follows:
That portion of the alley in Block 61-l/2 of a
part of the Arcadia Santa Anita Tract as shown
on Map recorded in Book 16, Page 58 of Miscellane-
ous Records in the Office of the Recorder of Los
Angeles County lying westerly of the northerly
prolongation of the easterly line of Lot 6 in
said Block.
A public hearing was duly held on August 16, 1977, on
posted notice and publication of said Resolution No. 4634, at the
hour of 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers of Arcadia City Hall,
240 West Huntington Drive, Arcadia, California, for the purpose of
hearing all persons interested in or objecting to the proposed
vacation and abandonment of the above-described portion of alley.
At said public hearing, the City Council accepted and received all
testimony offered in support of, or in objection to, said proposed
vacation.
SECTION 2. That the City Council hereby approves the
negative declaration for aforesaid vacation and abandonment and finds
that it will not have a significant effect on the environment.

SECTION 3. That the City Council finds from all the
evidence submitted that the said portion of alley hereinabove des-
cribed, and so included in the description in the resolution of
intention to vacate and abandon said alley, is unnecessary for
present or prospective street purposes, and therefore, it is ordered
that the above-described portion of alley be vacated.
SECTION 3. Pursuant to the provisions of Section 5079
of the Public Resources Code of the State of California, this Council
does hereby find and determine that neither hereinabove-described
portion of said alley nor parts thereof are useful as bicycle paths
or routes.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this resolution and shall cause a certified copy thereof to be
recorded in the office of the County Recorder of Los Angeles County.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was adopted
at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia held
on the 16th day of August, 1977, by the affirmative vote of at least
three Council members, to wit:
