HomeMy WebLinkAbout4795 RESOLUTION NO. 4795 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA ORDERING THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN LANDS TO THE ARCADIA CONSOLIDATED LIGHTING DISTRICT (ANNEXATION NO.8) WHEREAS, on November 6, 1978, there was filed with the City Clerk a report of the City Engineer made pursuant to the Street Lighting Act of 1919, Section 18000, et seq., of the Streets and Highways Code, which report contains a map of the lands which are proposed to be annexed to Arcadia Consolidated Lighting District, and the particular zones into which said lands are to be incorporat- ed, and a statement of the nature and extent of the proposed improve- ment, and the estimated cost thereof; and WHEREAS, on December 5, 1978, the City Council dUly held a public hearing for the purpose of hearing protests to the annexa- tion of said lands to said lighting ~istrict and the proposed im- provement; and WHEREAS, no protests were presented by persons having an interest in the land involved questioning the need for such annexation; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Said report of the City Engineer dated November 7, 1978, on file in the Office of the City Clerk, is approved and ad- opted, the protests are overruled and the proposed assessment as set forth in said report is hereby confirmed, and it is hereby ordered that said improvements be made and that the levying and collection of assessments shall be done in accordance with the Alternative Procedure for Levying and Collecting Assessments on an Ad Valorem Basis as set forth in Chapter 8.5 of the Street Lighting Act of 1919. Said lands are hereby annexed to the Arcadia Consolidated Light- ing District and are incorporated into said zones of said lighting district, all as shown on a map consisting of eleven sheets, which map is a part of said Engineer's report and is hereby incorporated herein by reference. -l~ 4795 The lighting improvement consists of furnishing and maintaining electric for said lands, a part of which are in Zone B as follows: 3500 Lumen 7000 Lumen 20,000 Lumen Mere. In addition to Zone B annexations, Parcel Map No. 8342 resulted in a boundary adjustment to Zone A and Parcel Map No. 8886 resulted in a boundary adjustment to Zone C. The adjustments do not affect the street lighting systems or the cost of operating Zones A or C except for the processing fee of $30 applicable to each zone. The estimated costs to be borne by each zone shall be paid by special assessment taxes levied upon all lands, exclusive of im- provements, within each zone. The improvement (operation and maintenance) of the street light- ing system on said lands shall be for a period commencing July 1, 1979 and ending June 30, 1990. Section 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution.
