HomeMy WebLinkAbout4816 RESOLUTION NO. 4B16 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DEFERRING TO THE JUDGMENT OF APPROPRIATE CITIES AND OPPOSING SPECIFIED PROPOSALS TO CONSOLIDATE CITY-COUNTY SERVICES. WHEREAS, the Staff of the City of Arcadia has studied the proposals of the Los Angeles City-County Consolidation Commission for the purposes of determining the efficiency or economy of con- solidating specified City and County services; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Arcadia has reviewed the comments of the various City departments and has reached an opinion. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That the City Council of the City of Arcadia hereby defers to the judgment of those cities with animal control services, airports, ports and harbors, the question of consolidation, and we hereby reject the remaining thirteen proposals for being ineffective to accomplish consolidation objectives and for their actual usurpation of local control. SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall transmit copies of this resolution'to the Board of Supervisors, the Los Angeles City-County Consolidation Commission, Supervisor Edmund D. Edelman, and to the City Council of each city in the County of Los Angeles. -1- 4B16 SECTION 3. That the Clerk of the Council shall certify to the adoption of this resolution.
