HomeMy WebLinkAbout4833 RESOLUTION NO. 4833 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA ESTABLISHING COMPENSATION FOR VARIOUS POSITIONS IN MANAGEMENT AND GENERAL EMPLOYEES FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1979-1980 AND 1980-1981 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Effective July 1, 1979, the salary schedule for General Employees shall be improved by 7% for the following classifications: Assistant Civil Engineer Deputy City Clerk Assistant Planner Account Clerk Building Inspector Secretary Water System Inspector Library Technician III Engineering Aide Senior Steno Clerk Senior Librarian Typist Clerk III Radio Technician Cashier-Account Clerk Code Enforcement Officer Library Technician II Accountant PBX Receptionist Equipment Mechanic Typist Clerk II Equipment Serviceman Library Technician I Building Maintenance Man Typist Clerk Custodian Senior Account Clerk Senior Citizens Co-ordinator Printing Services Assistant -1- 4833 SECTION 2. Effective July 1, 1979, the salary schedule for Management Employees as shown on Attachment A shall be improved by 9%. Effective July 1, 1979, the annual salaries of certain Management Employees shall be improved as shown on Attachment B. Effective July 1, 1979, in recognition of exceptional service certain management employees as shown on Attachment C which is by this reference incorporated herein shall receive additional compensation for services rendered in the month of July, 1979 in the amount specified by each position. SECTION 3. For the classifications listed in Section 1 and in Attachment A and B, the City shall continue to provide as deferred compensation a set dollar amount to be paid toward the employee's contribution to the Public Employee's Retirement System. Effective July 1, 1979, the set dollar amount to be paid as deferred compensation shal~ be an amount equal to 6% of the July 1, 1979 Salary Schedule r~te for each employee. SECTION 4. Effective December 30, 1979, for the classifi- cations listed in Section 1, the salary schedule shall be improved by 2%. The City shall adjust the dollar amount paid as deferred compensation to an amount equal to 6% of the December 30, 1979 Salary Schedule rate for each employee. SECTION 5. Effective June 29, 1980, for the classifications listed in Section 1 above, the Salary Schedule rate shall be improved by 7%. The City shall adjust the dollar amount paid as deferred compensation to an amount equal to 6% of the June 29, 1980 Salary Schedule rate for each employee. -2- 4833 SECTION 6. Effective December 28, 1980, for the classifi- cations listed in Section 1 above, the Salary Schedule rate shall be improved by 2%. The City shall adjust the dollar amount paid as deferred compensation to an amount equal to 6% of the December 28, 1980 Salary Schedule rate for each employee. Such dollar amount shall be fixed and shall not automatically increase due to future salary adjustments. SECTION 7. Effective January 1, 1980, for the classifi- cations listed in Section 1 above, the City shall pay at the employee's option, $35.00 per employee each month towards the cost of dependent coverage of the City's Major Medical Insurance plan or to the employee's account in the City's Deferred Compensation plan. If the cost of dependent coverage exceeds $35.00, the employee shall pay through payroll deduction the difference between the monthly premium and the amount contributed by the City, if any. If the cost of such coverage is less than $35.00, then the City shall pay the difference between the monthly premium and the $35.00 into the employee's account in the City's deferred compensation plan. The employee's exercise of the option to use the $35.00 toward dependent health coverage or the deferred compensation plan is subject to the conditions controlling enrollment periods and eligibility established by the respective plans or carriers. SECTION 8. Effective July 1, 1979, adjustments shall,be made in the salary schedule rate for the classifications of Secretary and Deputy City Clerk to correct salary rate compaction which has occurred. Such adjustments shall be made prior to applying the -3- 4833 salary increase indicated in Section 1 above. The salary schedule rates for the classifications of Secretary and Deputy City Clerk shall be adjusted by 5%. SECTION 9. Effective July 1, 1979, adjustments shall be made in the Salary Schedule rates for part time and temporary employees as follows: Swim Coach Asst. Swim Coach Contract Instructor Pool Manager Camp Director Senior Lifeguard Police Cadet Activity Leader II Swim Instructor Lifeguard Activity Leader I Janitor Library Aide Pool Cashier Crossing Guard Locker Attendant $370/Mo. $215/Mo. $2.90 - $15/Hr. $6.60/Hr. $5.75/Hr. $4.20/Hr. $2.90 - $4.50/Hr. $3.70 - $4.30/Hr. $3.25 - $3.85 $3.25 - $3.85 $2.90 - $3.50 $2.90 - $3.50 $2.90 - $3.50 $2.90 - $3.50 $2.90 - $3.50 $2.90 -4- 4833 SECTION 10. All Management Employees, as shown on 'Attachment A and B, shall receive Management Benefits as granted by the City Council in lieu of pay for any overtime worked. SECTION 11. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution.
