HomeMy WebLinkAbout5361 () RESOLUTION NO. 5361 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, ESTABLISHING COMPENSATION FOR VARIOUS POSITIONS WITHIN THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1987-1988 AND 1988-1989 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Effective June 21, 1987, the Salary Schedule shall be improved by 5% for the following classifications: Equipment Operator Store Keeper General Repairman Sweeper Operator Maintenance Worker Traffic Painter Public Works Foreman Tree Trimmer Pump Mechanic Water Foreman Pumping Plant Operator Water Service Representative SECTION 2. Effective June 19, 1988, for the classifications listed in Section 1 above, the Salary Schedule rate shall be improved by 5%. SECTION 3. Effective October 1, 1987, for the classifications listed in Section 1 above, the City shall pay an amount not to exceed the full family premium for the Mutual of New York (MONY) health plan, toward the health and dental insurance premium costs of either the Mutual of New York (MONYj or Kaiser plans, to each employee enrolled in a health insurance plan. -1- 5361 The excess of the City's contribution over the cost of employee only coverage may be contributed toward the cost of dependent coverage or paid to the employee in cash or to the employee's account in the City's Deferred Compensat ion plan, at the employees option. If the premium cost of a health plan exceeds the City's contribution, the employee shall pay through payroll deduction the difference between the monthly premium and the amount contributed by the City. The employee's exercise of the option to use the difference toward dependent health coverage or a Deferred Compensation plan is subject to the conditions controlling enrollment periods and eligibility established by the respective plans or carriers. SECTION 4. Effective October I, 1988, for the classifications listed in Section 1 above, the City shall increase the amount the City pays, toward the monthly health and dental insurance premium cost of a City health insurance plan by $10.00 to each employee enrolled in a health and dental insurance plan. If the City's contribution exceeds the cost of employee only coverage, the difference may be contributed toward the cost of dependent coverage or paid in cash or to the employee's account in the City' s Deferred Compensation plan, at the employee' s option. -2- 5361 If the premium cost of a health and dental plan exceeds the City's contribution, the employee shall pay through payroll deduction the difference between the monthly premium and the amount contributed by the City. SECTION 5. The salary and benefits set forth herein are predicated on a Hemorandum of Understanding (MOU) by the City and American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFL-CIO Local 2264. At the time of this Resolution, the MOU is not in final written form. The terms of this Resolution shall be of no force and effect if the MOU referred to herein is not signed by September I, 1987. SECTION 6. That Section 8 of Resolution No. 5237 is hereby repealed in its entirety. SECTION 7. Except as otherwise provided above, all other Sections of Resolution No. 5237 regarding Public Works Department Compensation shall remain in full force and effect for fiscal years 1987-1988 and 1988-1989. SECTION 8.
