RESOLUTION NO. 5381
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, ORDERING THE
ANNEXATION TO THE ARCADIA CONSOLIDATED
LIGHTING DISTRICT (ANNEXATION NO. 14)
WHEREAS, on October 16, 1987 there was filed with the City Clerk a
report of the City Engineer made pursuant to the Street Lighting Act of 1919,
Section 18000, et. seq., of the Streets and Highways Code, which report
contains a map of the lands which are proposed to be detached from existing
zones and to be annexed to Arcad i a Conso 1 idated Light ing Di strict, and the
particular zones into which said lands are to be incorporated, and a statement
of the nature and extent of the proposed improvement, and the estimated cost
thereof; and
WHEREAS, on November 17, 1987 the City Counci 1 du ly he 1 d a pub 1 i c
hearing for the purpose of hearing protests to the annexation to and
detachment of said lands from said lighting district and the proposed
improvement; and
WHEREAS, no protests were presented by persons having an interest in
the land involved questioning the need for such annexation.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA,
DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Said report of the City Engineer dated October 16, 1987,
on file in the office of the City Clerk, is approved and adopted, the
protests, if any, are overruled and the proposed assessment as set forth in
said report is hereby confirmed and it is hereby ordered that said
improvements be made and that the levying and collection of assessments shall

be done in accordance with the Alternative Procedure for Levying and
Collecting Assessments on an Ad Valorem Basis as set forth in Chapter B.5 of
the Street Lighting Act of 1919.
Said lands are hereby annexed to the Arcadia Consolidated Lighting
District and are incorporated into said zones of said lighting district, as
shown on a map consisting of twenty-three sheets, which map is a part of said
engineer's report and is hereby incorporated herein in reference.
The improvement consists of furnishing and maintaining electric
lighting for said lands, which are as follows:

Power and maintenance costs for street lighting at current costs were used to
calculate the estimated costs for each of the annexation areas for the next
fiscal year and are itemized as follows:

Total cost to City shall be borne by the City and shall be paid from
the General Fund.

The est imated costs to be borne by each Zone sha 11 be pa i d by
special assessment taxes levied upon all lands, exclusive of improvements,
within each zone.
The improvement (operation and maintenance) of the street lighting
system on said lands shall be for a period commencing July 1, 1988 and ending
June 30, 1990.
SECTION 2. That the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this resolution.
