HomeMy WebLinkAbout5398 RESOLUTION NO. 5398 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA AGREEING TO SELL PROPERTY FOR $825,660 TO THE ARCADIA REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY FOR PURPOSES OF REDEVELOPMENT WHEREAS, On November 17, 1988, the City Council and the Arcadia Redevelopment Agency authorized the sale of land to Emkay Development Company, Inc. pursuant to the Disposition and Development Agreement (DDA); and WHEREAS, the DDA obligates the Redevelopment Agency to secure certain City-owned properties (45,870 square feet) located within the Northside Project Site as generally depicted in Exhibit 1 and Exhibit 2 and to transfer said property to Emkay Development Company, Inc.; and WHEREAS, the City of Arcadia hold title to the above referenced land; and WHEREAS, the City of Arcadia has determined said land to be surplus property; and WHEREAS, the Redevelopment Agency has had similar land in the immediate area appraised to determine its fair market value; and WHEREAS, the City has reviewed the appraisals and has found that they do reflect the fair market value of this land; and WHEREAS, the City desires to have the Northside (Emkay). project developed in a timely manner as per the DDA between the / 5398 .. . ., .. - - ~. Redevelopment Agency and Emkay Development Company, Inc. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That the City agrees to sell to the Arcadia Redevelopment Agency the,City-owned property described in Exhibits 1 and 2 in exchange for $825,660 in cash. SECTION 2. That the City Manager of his authorized designee is directed to execute all the necessary documents to finalize the above transactions, subject to the approval of same as to form by the City Attorney. SECTION 3. That the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution.
