RESOLUTION NO. 4983
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ARCADIA ESTABLISHING A THIRTY-MINUTE PARKING
LIMITATION AND HANDICAPPED PARKING RESTRICTIONS
FOR SPECIFIED SPACES PURSUANT TO CALIFORNIA
VEHICLE CODE SECTION 22,S07.8(A) IN CITY OF
ARCADIA VEHICLE PARKING DISTRICT NO.2.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS
FOLLOWS,
SECTION 1. As referred to in this resolution, City of Arcadia
Vehicle Parking District No. 2 shall refer to those certain parking
areas owned or operated by the City of Arcadia between Wheeler Avenue
on the north, First Avenue on the east, the alley between Wheeler Avenue
and Huntington Drive on the south, and Santa Anita Avenue on the west.
SECTION 2. Arcadia City Council Resolution No. 3685, adopted
July 13, 1964, restricting parking in Vehicle Parking District No. l,
is hereby repealed.
SECTION 3. In accordance with the recommendation of the City of
Arcadia Parking Place Commission, and pursuant to California Vehicle Code
Section 22519 and Section 11 of the Uniform Traffic Ordinance of the City
of Arcadia, adopted by Section 3211 of the Arcadia Municipal Code, no
person shall park, stand, or stop any vehicle in City of Arcadia Vehicle
Parking District No. 2 for a period in excess of thirty (30) minutes in
a stall or space when such stall or space is indicated by appropriate
sign or green curb marking. The City Engineer is hereby authorized and
directed to post signs or paint curbs in compliance with Exhibit "A"
which is attached hereto.
SECTION 4. In accordance with the recommendation of the City of
Arcadia Parking Place Commission, that California Vehicle Code Section
22,507.8(a) prohibiting parking in handicapped spaces shall apply and
shall be enforced in City of Arcadia Vehicle Parking District No.2. In
accordance therewith, the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed
to post signs immediately adjacent to and visible from each stall and
space as specified in Exhibit "A" consisting of a profile view of a wheel-
chair with occupant in white on a blue background.

SECTION 5. If any section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase
or portion of this resolution is, for any reason, held to be invalid
or unconstitutional by the decision of any court of competent juris-
diction, such dectsion shall not affect the validity of the remaining
portions of this resolution. The City Council of the City of Arcadia
hereby declares that it would have adopted this resolution and each
section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase or portion thereof, irres-
pective of the fact that anyone or more sections, subsections, sentences,
clauses, phrases or portions be declared invalid or unconstitutional.
SECTION 6. Neither the adoption of this resolution nor the
repeal hereby of any resolution shall in any manner affect the prose-
cution for violation of law, which violations were committed prior to
the effective date hereof, nor be construed as affecting any of the
provisions of such law relating to the collection of any such license
or penalty or the penal provisions applicable to any violation thereof,
nor to affect the validity of any bond or cash deposit in lieu thereof,
required to be posted, filed or deposited pursuant to any law and all
rights and obligations thereunder appertaining shall continue in full
force and effect.
SECTION 7.
That the Clerk of the Council shall certify to the
adoption of this resolution.

regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia held on
the 4th day of August,
