" " RESOLUTION NO. 5515 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, REGARDING COMPENSATION FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT RECRUITS WHEREAS, to attract Law Enforcement Recruits to the City of Arcadia, information indicates that an increase in the compensation package for such recruits is necessary; and WHEREAS, the City of Arcadia desires to be competitive with regard to the recruitment of law enforcement personnel. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY FIND, DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. On adoption of this Resolution, compensation for Law Enforcement Recruits shall be as follows: a. Law Enforcement Recruits shall be paid at a rate consistent with 5% below Step A Police Officers. Any adjustment to step A Police Officer pay scale shall result in a corresponding adjustment to the Law Enforcement Recruit's pay scale so as to continually reflect the 5% differential. b. Medical insurance coverage for Law Enforcement Recruits shall be provided consistent with that provided for all miscellaneous employees. c. Law Enforcement Recruits are classified as miscellaneous employee's for purposes of retirement and shall be entitled to the 7% contribution by the City for the employees share into the Public Employees Retirement System. SECTION 2. The City's salary schedule and benefit documenta- tion shall be amended by the Personnel Department to reflect those changes made by this Resolution. -1- 5515 - - . L -. - SECTION 3. This Resolution shall prevail and take precedence over any previously adopted Resolutions that are inconsistent with the provisions set forth above. SECTION 4. That the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution. Passed, approved, and adopted this 2nd day of January, 1990.
