HomeMy WebLinkAbout6006 RESOLUTION NO. 6006 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, REGARDING DAYTIME TRUANCY WHEREAS, the City of Arcadia recogmzes that elementary and secondary education are fundamental building blocks for young citizens; and WHEREAS, children must attend school in order to receive an education which will empower them as individuals and citizens; and WHEREAs, those children who are truant from school do not receive the benefits of a basic education and are more likely to engage in anti-social behaviors during school hours. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY FIND, DETERMINE, AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. That the City Council of the City of Arcadia does hereby endorse and support daytime anti-truancy and anti-loitering ordinances for young people under 18 years of age, and any legislative action that supports the ability of local government to effectuate proper daytime curfew ordinance provisions, without interference by the State with regard to matters oflocal concern. SECTION 2. That the City Clerk shall certifY to the adoption of this Resolution.
