RESOLUTION NO. 4485
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ARCADIA ORDERING THE VACATION OF
A PORTION' OF INDIANA STREET.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DOES HEREBY
DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That pursuant to Resolution No. 4471
declaring the intention of the City Council to vacate and abandon
a portion of Indiana Street located in the City of Arcadia,
County of Los Angeles, State.of California, more particularly
described as follows:
Those portions of Indiana Street shown on map of
Arcadia Santa Anita Tract recorded in Book 15, pages
89 and 90 of Miscellaneous Records in the Office of
the Recorder of said County, described more particu-
larly as follows:
Parcell: Beginning at the intersection of the south-
westerly line of said Indiana Street and a line that
is parallel with and distant easterly 40 feet from the
centerline of First Avenue as shown on the map of said
tract; thence southeasterly along said southwesterly
line to a line that is parallel with and distant
northerly 55 feet from the centerline of Wheeler
Avenue (shown as Walnut Street on said map); thence
easterly along last said parallel line to the north-
easterly line of Indiana Street, thence northwesterly
along said northeasterly parallel line to the first
mentioned parallel line; thence southerly in a direct
line to the point of beginning.
Parcel 2: Beginning at the intersection of the north-
erly northeasterly corner of Lot 14, Block 75 of said
tract and the southwesterly line of said Indiana
Street; thence southeasterly along said southwesterly
line to a line that is parallel with and distant
northerly 50 feet from the centerline of Huntington
Drive (shown as Falling Leaf on said map); thence
easterly along last said parallel line to the north-
easterly line of Indiana Street; thence northwesterly
along said northeasterly line to a line that is at
right angles to last mentioned course and passes through
the point of beginning; thence southwesterly in a
direct line to the point of beginning,

a public hearing was duly held on December 17, 1974, at the hour
of 7:30 p.m., in the Council Chambers of Arcadia City Hall,
240 west Huntington Drive, Arcadia, California, for the purpose
of hearing all persons interested in or objecting to the proposed
vacat~on of the above described portion of street. At said
public hearing, the City Council accepted and received all testi-
mony offered in support of, or in objection to, said proposed
vacation.
SECTION 2. That the City Council finds from all the
evidence submitted that the said portion of street hereinabove
described, and so included in the description in the resolution of
intention to vacate said street, is unnecessary for present or
prospective street purposes, and therefore, it is ordered that the
above described portion of street be vacated; provided, that the
public convenience and necessity require the reservation of a
permanent easement and the right at any time, or from time to
time, to construct, maintain, operate, replace, remove and renew
water lines, sanitary sewers and storm drains and appurtenant
structures in, upon, over and across the above-described property
or part thereof, proposed to be vacated, and pursuant to any
existing franchises or renewals thereof, or otherwise, to construct,
maintain, operate, replace, remove, renew and enlarge lines of
pipe, conduits, cables, wires, poles and other convenient
structures, equipment and fixtures for the operation of gas
pipelines, telephone lines and lines for the transportation or
distribution of eleotrical energy in, upon, over and across the

above-described property or part thereof, and these proceedings
are taken subject to such reservation.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this resolution and shall cause a certified copy thereof to be
recorded in the office of the County Recorder of Los Angeles
County.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was
adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of
Arcadia held on the 18th day of
