A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, ORDERING THE PLACEMENT
OF LIENS UPON REAL PROPERTY FOR THE SETTLEMENT
OF DELINQUENT RUBBISH, SEWER AND PROPERTY RELATED
FEES
WHEREAS, the city council did on the 21st day of June,
1994, adopt a certain Ordinance No. 2008 declaring that
periodically the city shall by resolution order that liens be
placed on real property for the collection of rubbish, sewer and
property related fees reported delinquent by the city Treasurer on
the delinquent rubbish, sewer and property related fees report; and
WHEREAS, on the 29th of June, 1994, the city Treasurer
did cause written notice to be served on all property owners by
United States mail, informing them that on July 19, 1994, at 7:00
p.m. or as soon thereafter as possible, of said day, a pUblic
hearing shall be held to hear a report on delinquent accounts and
any objections or protests thereto. The said notice was mailed, as
required by law, more than fourteen (14) days prior to the hearing;
and
WHEREAS, the city council in accordance and pursuant to
Ordinance No. 2008 shall also have included in the total amount of
( the delinquent fees a late charge and fee to release the lien as

follows:
Ten (10) percent of the amount of the fee, plus one-half
(1/2) percent for each month or portion of a month, after the
delinquent date, plus the charge for the release of the lien at
such time the lien is removed.
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA
DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1.
That
because
of
the
additional
administrative costs, the City Council hereby orders that the late
charge and release of lien fee be added to the delinquent rubbish,
sewer and property related fee total.
Section 2.
That the parcels of real property
designated on the delinquent rubbish, sewer and property related
fees report of June 30, 1994, attached hereto as Exhibit "A", is
hereby ordered to be sent to the Auditor/Controller's Office of the
County of Los Angeles and thereby become an addition to the regular
Property Tax Bill.
Section 3.
The Mayor shall sign this Resolution and
the city Clerk shall attest and certify to the passage and adoption
thereof.
Passed, approved and adopted this 19th day of July 1994.

certify that the foregoing Resolution No. 5810 was passed and
adopted by the city Council of the city of Arcadia, signed by the
Mayor and attested to by the city Clerk at a regular meeting of
said Council on the 19th day of July 1994, and that said Resolution

SUBJECT: Delinquent Accounts to be Assessed to Property Tax
SUMMARY
Ordinance No, 2008 authorizes the collection of delinquent charges and service fees by
placing liens on the related real property, Fees authorized pursuant to the Ordinance which
remain unpaid for a period of three (3) months or more after billed may be collected by the
property lien procedure,
On June 29, 1994, the City Treasurer notified those affected property owners and informed
them of the Public Hearing to be held to hear any objections or protests concerning the
delinquent accounts,
DISCUSSION
Per Article I, Chapter 8, Section 1800-1801 of the Arcadia Municipal Code, related charges
and service fees have become delinquent, for a period exceeding ninety (90) days for the
following properties:

The above property owners have been notified by mail of their delinquent accounts and the date
of this hearing,
RECOMMENDATION
That Council opens the hearing, receiye any objections or protest from the owners regarding
the liens to be placed, make necessary revisions or corrections to the report the Council deems
fair, after which, by resolution, confmn the report.
The Finance Director, based on the confinned report, will submit the amounts for inclusion on
the property tax bill to the Los Angeles County Tax Collector to be collected during the
following fiscal year,
