HomeMy WebLinkAbout6349 RESOLUTION NO. 6349 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING AND ADOPTING LOCAL GUIDELINES FOR IMPLEMENTING THE CALIFORNIA ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY ACT (PUB. RESOURCES CODE SS 21000 ET SEQ.) WHEREAS, the California Legislature has amended the California Environmental Quality Act ("CEQA") (Public Resources Code SS 21000 et seq.) and the State CEQA Guidelines (California Code of Regs., title 14, SS 15000 et seq.) and the California courts have interpreted specific provisions of CEQA in recent months; and WHEREAS, Section 21082 of CEQA requires all public agencies to adopt objectives, criteria and procedures for the evaluation of public and private projects undertaken or approved by such public agencies and the preparation, if required, of environmental impact reports and negative declarations in connection with that evaluation; and WHEREAS, the City of Arcadia ("City") must revise its local guidelines for implementing CEQA to make them consistent with the current provisions and interpretations of CEQA. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY, FIND, DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: 1 6349 SECTION I. The City adopts "Local Guidelines for Implementing the California Environmental Quality Act (2003 Revision)," a copy of which is on file at the Development Services Department and is available for inspection by the public. SECTION 2. All prior actions of the City enacting earlier guidelines are hereby repealed, SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution.
