HomeMy WebLinkAbout6052 RESOLUTION NO. 6052 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA APPROVING A MAP AND DECLARING THE CITY'S INTENTION TO VACATE AN ALLEY WEST OF SECOND AVENUE AND SOUTH OF SANTA CLARA STREET; DIRECTING THE CLERK OF THE COUNCIL TO FILE SAID MAP IN HER OFFICE SHOWING SAID PORTION; RESERVING EASEMENTS AND RIGHTS- OF-WAY TO BE EXCEPTED; SETTING A PUBLIC HEARING THEREON FOR JULY 21, 1998; AND DIRECTING NOTICE HEREOF TO BE POSTED AND PUBLISHED. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. This City Council of the City of Arcadia does hereby approve that certain map showing the proposed street vacation of an alley west of Second Avenue and south of Santa Clara Street, attached hereto as Exhibit "A", which this Council hereinafter declares its intention to vacate and abandon subject to the reservation and exception of all easements and rights of Pacific Bell, the Southern California Edison Company and the Southern California Gas Company, as authorized by Sections 8340 and 8341 of the California Streets and Highways Code. SECTION 2. The City Clerk is hereby directed to file said map in her office where the same may be examined by any and all persons desiring to do so. 1 6052 SECTION 3. Pursuant to and in accordance with provisions of Chapter 3 of Part 3 of Division 9 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California (Streets and Highways Code Section 8300 et. seq.). this. Council does hereby declare its intention to order the vacation and abandonment of and to vacate and abandon an alley west of Second Avenue and south of Santa Clara Street, subject to the easements and rights-of-way described in Section 1, above, and hereby finds that the public convenience and necessity require the reservation of these easements and rights-of-way. SECTION 4. Notice is hereby given that at the hour of 7:00 p.m. or as soon thereafter as the matter can be heard, on the 21 st day of July, 1998, in the Council Chambers of the Arcadia City Hall, 240 West Huntington Drive, Arcadia, California, a public hearing will be held by this Council at which time any and all persons interested in or objecting to the proposed vacation and abandonment and the reservations and exceptions of the easements and rights-of-way as described in Section 1, above, may appear and be heard. SECTION 5. The Clerk of the Council is hereby directed to cause the Resolution to be published in the official newspaper of the City of Arcadia and the notice of public hearing stating the date, hour and place be published for at least two successive weeks prior to the hearing. SECTION 6.
