RESOLUTION NO. 556l
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, TO APPLY FOR TRANSPORTATION
PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT FUNDS FOR TRANSIT CAPITAL
IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM PROJECTS AS PART OF THE LOS
ANGELES COUNTY TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION'S
APPLICATION (RAIL STATION)
WHEREAS, the California Transportation Commission (CTC)
programs and allocates Transportation Planning and Development
funds (TP&D) for Transit Capital Improvement (TCI) Projects; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Transportation annually submits to
the California Transportation Commission its resource allocation
recommendations on Mass Transit Guideway projects; and
WHEREAS, the CTC has estimated that $40 million would be
available in Fiscal Year 1991-92 for the TCI program; and
WHEREAS, the CTC has solicited applications for the FY 1991-
92 TCI Program; and
WHEREAS, the Los Angeles County Transportation Commission has
submitted an application for these funds to be used toward
construction of rail stations in Los Angeles County.
WHEREAS, the city of Arcadia, declares its desire for a rail
station within its city limits, understanding that funding such a
station is largely the responsibility of the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA,
CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY FIND, DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION l.
That the City of Arcadia, conditioned upon the
successful completion of the necessary environmental clearance,
declares its intent to provide a 50% match ($4l7,500) for the
construction costs of the rail station development project
identified by the Los Angeles County Transportation Commission in

its TCI application for an Intermodal Transfer station.
SECTION 2. That the City of Arcadia will only dedicate
transportation revenues such as Proposition A, Proposition C or any
state of California funding that would be available. It will not
utilize City of Arcadia General Fund monies to pay for the rail
station project.
SECTION 3. That the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Resolution.

California, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution No. 5561
was passed and adopted by the City Council of the city of Arcadia,
signed by the Mayor and attested to by the City Clerk at a regular
meeting of said Council on the 4th day of December, 1990 and that
said Resolution was adopted by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: councilmember Ciraulo, Fasching, Gilb, Harbicht and Young
