HomeMy WebLinkAbout5565 RESOLUTION NO. 5565 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING THE GENERAL PLAN LAND USE DESIGNATION FOR THE PROPERTIES AT 44-50 FOREST AVENUE, 612-620 NORTH FIRST A VENUE AND 701-805 NORTH FIRST AVENUE FROM SINGLE-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL (0-6 DWELLING UNITS PER ACRE) TO MULTIPLE- FAMILY RESIDENTIAL (7+ DWELLING UNITS PER ACRE). WHEREAS, on October 8,1990, an application was filed by John E. Plount to consider changing the Arcadia General Plan Land Use Designation from Single- family Residential (0-6 dwelling units per acre) to Multiple-family Residential (7+ dwelling units per acre) for the property at 701 North First Avenue. The Planning Department included in this application (Case No, G.P. 90-00ll the consideration of other R-2 zoned properties within the subject area, as to provide for greater consistency between the General Plan and the existing zoning of the properties, Said properties are commonly known as 44-50 Forest Avenue, 612-620 North First Avenue and 701-805 North First Avenue, more particularly described as follows: See attached Exhibits "A" and "5", WHEREAS, on November 27,1990, a public hearing was held before the Planning Commission on said matter at which time all interested per.sons were given full opportunity to be heard and to present evidence; and WHEREAS, after the public hearing the Planning Commission voted 5-0 to recommend to the City Council approval of General Plan Change 90-001; and WHEREAS, on December 18, 1990, a public hearing was held before the City Council at which time all interested persons were given full opportunity to be heard and to present evidence; and WHEREAS, after the public hearing the City Council voted 5-0 to approve General Plan Change 90-001; and WHEREAS, as part of the record of this hearing the City Council reviewed and considered: a. All staff reports and related attachments and exhibits submitted by the Planning Department to the Planning Commission and City CounciL 1 5565 b. The record of the Planning Commission hearing regarding G,P, 90-001. c. Written communications submitted by any and all interested persons or parties, d. All oral presentations and testimony made during the public hearing on December 18, 1990, NOW,.1HEREFORE, 1HE CITY COUNCIL OF 1HE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1, This Council finds: 1. That the granting of General Plan Change 90-001 will not be detrimental to the public health or welfare, or injurious to the property or improvements in such zone or vicinity, 2. That the granting of General Plan Change 90-001 will correct an existing inconsistency with the Zoning Ordinance, 3. That the granting of General Plan Change 90-001 will not have a significant effect on the environment and no substantial adverse impact. Section 2. That for the foregoing reasons this Council approves a Negative., Declaration and grants General Plan Change 90-001, amending the General Plan Land Use Designation from Single-family Residential (0-6 dwelling units per acre) to Multiple-family Residential (7+ dwelling units per acre) for the properties 44-50 Forest Avenue, 612-620 North First Avenue, and 701-805 North First Avenue. Section 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this.
