Home My WebLink About5583 RESOLUTION NO. 5583 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA APPROVING A MAP AND DECLARING THE CITY'S INTENTION TO VACATE AND ABANDON PARCELS ONE (1) AND TWO (2), PORTIONS OF SECOND AVENUE; DIRECTING THE CLERK OF THE COUNCIL TO FILE SAID MAP IN HER OFFICE SHOWING SAID PORTIONS; RESERVING EASEMENTS AND RIGHTS-OF WAY TO BE EXCEPTED; SETTING A PUBLIC HEARING THEREON FOR JUNE 4, 1991; AND DIRECTING NOTICE HEREOF TO BE POSTED AND PUBLISHED. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. This City Council of the City of Arcadia does hereby approve that certa i n map showi ng the proposed street vacation of Parcel s One (1) and Two (2), portions of Second Avenue located north of Huntington Drive and south of Santa Clara Street, attached hereto as Exhibit "An, which this Council hereinafter declares its intention to vacate and abandon subject to the reservation and exception of all easements and rights of the City of Arcadia and of Southern Cal ifornia Edison Company, as set forth in Sections 8340 and 8341 of the Streets and Highways Code. SECTION 2. The City Clerk is hereby directed to file said map in her office where the same may be examined by any and all persons desiring to do so. SECTION 3. Pursuant to and in accordance with provisions of Chapter 3 of Part 3 of Division 9 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California (Streets and Hi ghways Code Section 8300 et. seq.), thi s Council does hereby declare its intention to order the vacation and abandonment of and to vacate and abandon Parcels One (1) and (2) portions of Second Avenue located north of Huntington Drive and south of Santa Clara Street, subject to the easements and rights-of-way described in Section I, above, and hereby finds that the public convenience and necessity require the reservation of these easements and rights-of-way. SECTION 4. Notice is hereby given that at the hour of 7:30 p.m. or as soon thereafter as the matter can be heard, on the 4th day of June, 1991, in the Council 5583 Chambers of the Arcadia City Hall, 240 West Huntington Drive, Arcadia, California, a public hearing will be held by this Council at which time any and all persons interested in or objecting to the proposed vacation and abandonment and the reservat ions and except ions of the easements and rights-of-way as descri bed inSect i on I, above, may appear and be heard. SECTION 5. . The Clerk of the Council is hereby directed to cause the Resolution to be published in the official newspaper of the city of Arcadia and the notice of pubiic hearing stating the date, hour and place be published for at least two successive weeks prior to the hearing. SECTION 6. That the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution. Passed, approved and adopted this 7th day of May, 1991.
