HomeMy WebLinkAbout5484 RESOLUTION NO. 5484 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, ESTABLISHING COMPENSATION FOR VARIOUS POSITIONS OF GENERAL EMPLOYEES FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1989-1990 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA DOES SECTION 1. HEREBY FIND, DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: Effective July 2, 1989, the Salary Schedule for General Employees shall be improved by 6% for the following classifications which also shows in parenthesis an approved reclassification with the newly adopted salary range reflecting the 6%: Account Clerk I Acount Clerk II Administrative Aide Assistant Engineer Assistant Planner Associate Planner Building Inspector Building Maintenance Worker Building Technician Cashier-Account Clerk Circulation Supervisor Code Enforcement Officer Communications Technician Computer Technician Computer Operations Technician Custodian Deputy City Clerk Dispatcher Clerk Economic Development Assistant Economic Development Associate Engineering Aide Equipment Mechanic Equipment Service Worker -1- Fire Technician (1,616-1,964) Info/Referral Coordinator Legal Secretary Library Technician I Library Technician II Library Technician III Parking Control Specialist PBX Rec13-ptionist Personnel Technician Police Clerk Prinicipal Librarian Printing Services Assistant Secretary Senior Account Clerk Senior Engineering Aide Senior Librarian Senior Steno Clerk Senior Typist Clerk Typist Clerk Typist Clerk II Typist Clerk III 5484 SECTION 2. Effective July 2, 1989, the Account Clerk position in the Cashier's Office is upgraded to Senior Account Clerk. SECTION 3. Effective July 2, 1989, the position of Senior Account Clerk will receive an additional 5% salary adjustment. SECTION 4. Effective July 2, 1989, the following positions will be retitled: The two (2) Cashier-Account Clerk positions in the Accounting Division will be retitled, Account Clerk I. The present Account Clerk positions will be retitled, Account Clerk II. SECTION 5. Effective July 2, 1989, for the classifications listed in Section 1 above, the City shall increase the amount the City pays toward the monthly health and dental insurance premium cost of a City health insurance plan by up to $20.00 to each employee enrolled in a health and dental insurance plan provided the City's contribution does not exceed the cost for insurance. If the City's contribution exceeds the cost of employee only coverage, the difference may be contributed toward the cost of dependent coverage or paid in cash or to the employee's account in the City's Deferred Compensation Plan, at the employee's option. If the premium cost of a health and dental plan exceeds the City's contribution, the employee shall pay through payroll deduction the difference between the monthly premium and the amount contributed by the City. -2- r 5484 The employee's exercise of the option to use the difference toward dependent health coverage or the Deferred Compensation Plan is subject to the conditions controlling enrollment periods and eligibility established by the respective plans or carriers. SECTION 6. Effective July 2, 1989, for the classifications listed in Section 1 above, the allowable accumulated sick leave hours shall be raised to 1300 hours. SECTION 7. Effective July 2, 1989, for the classifications listed in Section 1 above, in lieu of a holiday for Martin Luther King's Birthday, each employee may take one (1) floating holiday during the fiscal year. Floating holidays shall be used in the same manner as vacation days at the discretion of the Department Manager. Floating holidays must be used in the year they are earned. Should the City Council authorize a holiday for Martin Luther King's Birthday, then the floating holiday will be discontinued. SECTION 8. All other benefits and compensation set forth in prior resolutions regarding compensation for general employees, not specifically altered by this Resolution shall remain in full force and effect. SECTION 9. That the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution. Passed, approved and adopted this 20th day of June, 1989.
