HomeMy WebLinkAbout5421 RESOLUTION NO. 5421 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNA, ESTABLISHING COMPENSATION FOR THE POSITIONS OF POLICE SERGEANT, POLICE AGENT AND POLICE OFFICER FOR THE FISCAL YEARS 1988-89, 1989-90 AND 1990-91 (POLICE ASSOCIATION) THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY FIND, DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Effective July 3, 1988, the salary schedule shall be improved by the percentage set forth below for the particular classification as designated: Police Sergeant - 6.5% Police Agent - 4% Police Officer - 4% SECTION 2. In 1989 and 1990 the following salary adjustments shall occur as set forth below: July 1989: Police Sergeant - 5.5% Police Agent - 3% Police Officer - 3% January 1990: Police Sergeant - 2% Police Agent - 2% Police Officer - 2% July 1990: Police Sergeant 7.5% Police Agent - 5% Police Officer - 5% 54JI SECTION 3. For the classifications listed in Section 1, the City shall continue to provide as Deferred Compensation a set dollar amount (3%) to be paid toward the employees' contribution to the Public Employees Retirement System. Effective January 1, 1989, the set dollar amount to be paid as Deferred Compensation shall be an amount equal to 5% of the July 3, 1988 Salary Schedule rate for each employee. Such dollar amount shall be fixed and shall not automatically increase due to future salary adjustments, except as set forth below: January 1990 - 7% November 1990 - 9% SECTION 4. Effective July 3, 1988, for the classifications listed in Section 1 above, the City shall pay up to $281 per month toward the health and dental insurance premium cost of the Ci ty' 5 health insurance plan, to each employee enrolled in the health and dental insurance plan. Effective July 1, 1989 the City shall pay up to $296 per month. Effective July 1, 1990, the City paid amount shall be $311 per month. SECTION 5. Effective July 3, 1988, for the classifications listed in Section 1 above, the City shall pay up to $12.81 per month toward the employee coverage of the disability income insurance plan. SECTION 6. The salary and benefits set forth herein are predicated on a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) by the City and the Arcadia Police Relief Association. At the time of this -2- 5421 Resolution, the MOU is not in final written form. The terms of this Resolution shall be of no force and effect if the MOU referred to herein is not signed by July 31, 1988. SECTION 7. Except as to specific changes set forth in this Resolution all other benefits provided in Resolution 5233 shall remain in full force and effect. SECTION 8. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution.
