HomeMy WebLinkAbout4310 ~ RESOLUTION NO. 4310 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA ORDERING THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN LANDS TO THE ARCADIA CONSOLI- DATED LIGHTING DISTRICT (ANNEXATION NO.2,). WHEREAS, on October 13, 1972, there was filed with the City Clerk a report of the City Engineer made pursuant to the Street Lighting Act of 1919, Section 18000, et seq., of the Streets and Highways Code, which report contains a map of the lands which are proposed to be annexed to the Arcadia Consolidated Lighting District, and the particular zones into which said lands are to be incorporated, and a statement of the nature and extent of the proposed improvement, and the estimated cost thereof; and WHEREAS, on December 5, 1972, the City Council duly held a public hearing for the purpose of hearing protests to the annexation of said lands to said lighting district and the proposed improvement; and WHEREAS, no protest was filed by anyone having interest in any of said land. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADrrA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Said report of the City Engineer is approved and adopted and the proposed assessment as set forth in said report is hereby confirmed and it is hereby ordered that said improvement be made and that the levying and collection of assessments shall be done in accordance with the Alternative Procedure for Levying and Collecting Assessments on an Ad Valorem Basis as set forth in Chapter 8.5 of the Street Lighting Act of 1919. Said lands are hereby annexed to the Arcadia Consoli- dated Lighting District and are incorporated into said zones of said lighting district, all as shown on a map consisting of nine -1- 4310 sheets, which map is a part of said Engineer's report and is hereby incorporated herein by reference. The improvement consists of furnishing and maintaining electric lighting for said lands, a patt of which are in Zone B and a part of which are in Zone E, as follpws: 3500 Lumen 7000 Lumen Zone Mercury Vapor Mercury Vapor ;B 16 4 E 4 20 Totals 20 24 20,000 Lumen Mercury Vapor 6 6 The estimated costs for the first year of operation are as follows: Item Zone B Zone E Energy & Maintenance Cost $1,533.60 $520.20 Estimated Engineering, Publication and Posting Costs 25.00 25.00 Subtotal 1,5513.60 545.20 Per cent of Cost to District 50% 100% Estimated Cost to be Borne by District $ 779.30 545.20 One-half of the costs in Zone B, $779.30, shall be borne by the City and shall be paid from the General Fund. The estimated costs to be borne by each zone shall be paid by special assessment taxes levied upon all lands, exclusive of improvements, within each zone. The improvement (operation and maintenance) of the street lighting system on said lands shall be for a period commencing July 1, 1973 and ending June 30, 1990. SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution and shall send a certified copy thereof together -2- 4310 with the map referred to above to the Assessor and the Board of Equalization.
