RESOLUTION NO. 5270
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING
A NEGATIVE DECLARATION PURSUANT TO THE
CALIFORNIA ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY ACT
CONCERNING THE CONSTRUCTION OF A CITY
PUBLIC WORKS YARD IN THE CHICAGO PARK
AREA OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Arcadia, California, has
caused the preparation of an Initial Study, attached hereto as Exhibit
"A", of the environmental impacts of the relocation of the existing City
Public Works Yard from Fifth Avenue and Huntington Drive to a 5.04 acre
site on the south side of Goldring Road and east of Kardashian Avenue
(11800 Goldring Road) in the Chicago Park industrial area pursuant to the
requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed and considered the environmental
information contained in the Initial Study; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has duly published Notice and has duly
conducted a Public Hearing concerning the proposed adoption of a Negative
Declaration concerning the construction of a Public Works Yard and has
considered testimony and other submissions related thereto;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF. THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA,
DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Council hereby accepts and approves the Initial
Study, attached hereto as Exhi bit "A".
SECTION 2. Based on the Initial Study the City of Arcadia finds and
determines that the construction and use of the City Public Works Yard will
not have a significant impact upon the environment and certifies that the
information contained in the Initial Study for the proposed project has been
reviewed and considered by the City Council.

SECTION 3. That the City Council hereby approves and adopts the
Negative Declaration, attached hereto as Exhibit "B".
SECTION 4. That the City Staff is authorized and directed to prepare
and the City Clerk is authorized and directed to file with the County Clerk
of the County of Los Angeles a Notice of the Determination concerning the
adoption of the Negative Declaration.
SECTION 5. That the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
Resolution.

~he City Council of the City of Arcadia, California, will hold a
Public Hearing on the above date at 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers
of the Arcadia City Hall located at 240 West Huntington Drive, Arcadia,
California.
The ~ur~ose of the Public Hearing is to consider the environmental
documents concerning the ~ropose6 use of the property. The City in-
tends to relocate the existing City Yard from Fifth and Huntington
to this site. The Yard will house ~ublic Works, Warehouse, Mainten-
ance, Water Division, Garage and other uses.
Pursuant to the provisions of tne California Environmental Quality
Act and State Guidelines, an initial study has been prepared
for the proposed project. The initial study did not disclose
any substantial or potentially substantial adverse effect on
the environment, hence a Negative Declaration has been filed.
Said documents are on file with the Public Works Department and
with the City Clerk in City Hall~

partment, 240 West Huntington Drive, Arcadia, Monday through
Friday, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 ~.m. If you
