HomeMy WebLinkAbout1606 RESOLUTION NO. 1606 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA ABANDONING A PORTION OF PARK NO. 3 IN OAKWOOD DRIVE IN SAID CITY Al\'D PROVIDING FOR THE SALE AND CONVEYANCE THEREOF. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DOES RESOLVE AS FOI.LOWS: SECTION 1. WHEREAS, by Resolution of Intention No. 1568, adopted January 21, 1947, this Council determined that the herein- after described real property, previously acquired by said City for park purposes, should be abandoned and discontinued for such purposes and should be sold and conveyed in accordance with the provisions of the Municipal Park Abandonment Law of 1915 (Stats. 1915, p.1250, amended by Stats 1919, p.237), and WHEREAS, in pursuance thereof a public hearing was held on March 4, 1947, by and before said Council and no objection having been made to such abandonment: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the following real property in the City of Arcadia, County of Los Angeles, State of California, described as follows: The ~est 16.68 feet of the North 40 feet of Park No. 3 in Oakvlood Drive, formerly Pinehurst Avenue, as shown on map of Tract No. 4129, recorded in Book 75, pages 48 and 49 of Maps, records of said County; being the West 16.68 feet of that portion of said Park No. 3 lying North of the North line of Orange Grove Avenue, formerly Live Oak Avenue, as shown on map of Tract No. 7122, recorded in Book 117, page 83 of Maps, records of said County. be, and the same is hereby ordered, abandoned and discontinued for park purposes and that said real property be sold and conveyed to Norman L. Franz and Ora May Franz in consideration of the payment by them to said City of Arcadia of the sum of Thirty seven and 47/100 Dollars ($37.47). SECTION 2. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the following real property in the City of Arcadia, County of Los Angeles, State of \'l!>fJ~ California, described as follows~ The East 3.32 feet of the North 40 feet of Park No.3 in Oakwood Drive, formerly Pinehurst Avernle, as shown on map of Tract No. 4129, recorded in Book 75, pages 48 and 49 of Maps, records of said County; being the East 3.32 feet of that portion of said Park No.3 lying North of the ,North line of Orange Grove Avenue, formerly Live Oak Avenue, as shown on map of Tract No. 7122, recorded in Book 117, page 83 of Maps, records of said County., be, and the same is hereby ordered, abandoned and discontinued for park purposes and that said real property be sold and conveyed to Charles F. Van Ausdol and Gladys R. Van Ausdol in consideration of the payment of the City of Arcadia of the sum of One Dollar ($1.00) . SECTION 3. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk of said City be, and they are hereby, authorized to sign, acknowledge and deliver to the said purchasers deeds to said real property in the name and under the seal of said City of Arcadia. SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution.
