MARSH!LL AND BURKE, AS SPECIAL COUNSEL, AND PROVIDING FOR. THE COMPEN- SATION FOR SAID EMPLOYMENT. THE CITY COUNCIL OF Th~ CITY OF ARCADIA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTI"ON 1. the law firm of Burke, Marshall and Burke, 458 South Spring street, Los Angeles, 13, California, is hereby employed as special counsel to represent the defen- dant, gity of Arcadia, in those certain actions now pending in the Superior Court of the State of California, in and for the County of Los Angeles, known, numbered and entitled therein STERLING M. PAlLING, Plaintiff, vs CITY OF ARCADIA. et al" defendants, No, 531411, and LOWRY G. McCASLIN, Plaintiff, vs CITY OF ARCADIA~ et al., Defendants, No. 531412. SECTION 2, That the compensation for said employ- ment to be paid said firm by the City of Arcadia, a 1mnicipal Corporation, shall be commensurate with the services rendered in said litigation, payable during the course of the per- formance of said services, or at the conclusion thereof. . SECTION 3, THE CITY OF ARCADIA shall pay such court costs as may be necessary in defense of said litiga- tion. SECTION 4, The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
