HomeMy WebLinkAbout1697 RESOLUTION NO. 1697~ RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, A MUNICIPAL CORPORATION, DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO DISPOSE OF A CERTAIN PUBLIC BUILDING AND SITE DEDICATED TO A PUBLIC USE, FIXING A TIME TO HEAR OBJECTIONS AND PROTESTS THERETO, PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION AND POSTING OF THIS RESOLUTION, . -. FIXING THE TIME WHEN FINAL ACTION SHALL BE TAKEN ON THIS RESOLUTION, AND DESCRIBING THE PROPERTY INTENDED TO BE DISPOSED OF. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council of the City of Arcadia that the public interest and convenience requires that its public building, known as the City Hall, and the site thereof, hereinafter More particularly described, and heretofore dedicated to a public use, be di sposed of and conveyed; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOTIIS: Section 1. The City Council hereby finds that the public interest and convenience requires that the public building owned by the City of Arcadia, and known as the City Hall, and the site thereof hereinafter described, heretofore dedicated to a public use, be disposed of and conveyed. Said property intended to be disposed of is described as follows: Lots 14 to 17 inclusive, Lots 25 to 31 inclusive, and Lots 33 and 34, in Block 74 of Arcadia Santa Anita Tract in the City of Arcadia, County of Los Angeles, State of California, as per Map recorded. in Book 15, Pages 89 and 90 of Miscellaneous Records of the County Recorder of said County; Except the northerly ten (10) feet of said Lots 14 and 17 included within the alley-vacated by Ordinance 231, adopted by the City Council of the City of Arcadia on the 4th day of DeceMber , 1929, and Except frOM said Lot 14, the westerly eight (8) feet thereof, and - 1 - 9-,,-0 ,,,"0 , Subject to the easement for street purposes over the easterly ten (10) feet of said Lots 15, 16 and 17 and over the southerly twenty (20) feet of said Lots 14 and 15. Section 2. The City Council hereby declares its inten- tion to dispose of said City Hall and said site upon such terms as it deems to -the best advantage and interest of the City of Arcadia. Secti on 3. The 2nd day of SepteMber. 1949, at 8 o'clock,p,m., in the Council Chamber of the Arcadia City Hall, in the City of Arcadia, is hereby fixed as the day, time and place for hearing objections to the disposal of and conveyance of such property, and is the time when final action will be taken thereon by the City Council. Section 4. At any time prior to the final action by the City Council on the disposal of such property. any person interested May protest the said sale. Such protest may be in writing delivered to the Clerk of the City Councilor orally in the meeting herein- above provided for. The City Council will hear and pass upon any such protest or objection at said meeting. In the event no protests are received or in the event the City Council overrules such pro- tests or objections by a four-fifths vote of the Members thereof, the City Council will proceed with such sale. Section 5. The City Clerk is hereby instructed to cause this resolution to be published at least once in a daily newspaper published in the County of Los Angeles, to-wit: Pasadena Star-News.. , hereby designated by the City Council for such purpose. This resolution mall also be published by posting for not less than ten (10) days in at least three (3) conspicuous places upon each parcel of real property affected thereby. Section 6.
