HomeMy WebLinkAbout1520 RESOLUTION NO. /S"~O_ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA EMPLOYING THE FIRM OF BURKE, HICKSON, BURKE & MARSHALL AS SPECIAL COUNSE;L, AND PRO- VIDING FOR THE COMPENSATION FOR SAID EMPLOYMENT. The City Council of the City of Arcadia does resolve as follows: SECTION 1. The law firm of Burke, Hickson, Burke & Marshall, 458 South Spring Street, Los Angeles 13, California, is hereby employed as Special Counsel to represent defendants City of Arcadia, a Municipal Corporation, et al., in that certain action now pending in the Superior Court of the State of California, in and for the County of Los Angeles, known, numbered and entitled therein: "PETROVICH, etc., Plaintiff, vs. CITY OF-ARCADIA, a Municipal Corporation, et al., Defendants, No. 518,674."- SECTION 2. That the compensation for said employment to be paid said firm by the City of Arcadia, a Municipal Corporation, shall be as follows: (a) The sum of Five Hundred ($500.00) Dollars on account upon the adoption of this reso- lution, the payment of which is hereby author- ized from the general fund, and the City Clerk and City Treasurer are hereby authorized and directed to draw a warrant for said sum; (b) Such additional compensation as shall be commensurate with the services rendered in said litigation, payable during the course of the performance of said services or at the conclusion thereof. SECTION 3. The City of Arcadia shall pay such court costs as may be necessary in defense of said litigation. SECTION 4. That the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
