RESOLUTION NO. 1,23.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCn OF
THE CITY OF ARCADIA AUTHORIZING AN
INVESTIGATION AND ANALYSIS OF THE
PROBLEM OF SPREADING GROUNDS FOR
THE CONSERVATION OF WATER AND THE
COST THEREOF.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ARCADIA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. WHEREAS, in the opinion of
this Council, there exists a serious and in-
creasing need for the conservation of water
resources and appropriate steps should be
taken to safeguard the present and future
water supply of the City of Arcadia;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT
RESOLVED that the City Engineer and the Water
Superintendent of the City of Arcadia be, and
they are hereby, authorized and instructed to
conduct an immediate investigation of the need
tor spreading grounds, or other facilities, to
adequately conserve all water now available,
or to be available in the future, to said City;
to determine the locations best suited for use
as spreading grounds and to cooperate with the
City Engineer and Water Superintendent or other
officials of the City of Sierra Madre, or any
other municipality or agency, to the end that an
analysis of the water conservation problem may be
made and a report of such investigation and analysis
and a statement of the estimated costs of any pro-
gram or programs recommended therefrom may be
submitted to this Council for consideration

at the earliest practicable date.
SECT IONf ,2. That the City Clerk shall
certify to the adoption of this resolution
and thenceforth and thereafter the same
shall be in full force and effect.
ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 1st day of
October, 1946.
