A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO ABANDON A PORTION OF PARK NO. -3 IN OAKWOOD DRIVE, IN SAID CITY, AND TO SELL AND CONVEY THE SAME. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA CALIFORNIA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. WHEREAS, the following described real property situate within the corporate limits of the City of Arcadia has been acquired by said City for park pur- poses by the recording of a plat or map in the office of the County Recorder: The Northerly 40 feet of Park No. 3 in Oakwood Drive, formerly Pinehurst Avenue, as shown on Map Tract No. 4129, recorded in Book 77, pages 48 and 49 of Maps, records of Los Angeles CountYf being that portion of Park No. 3 lying North of the Northerly line of Orange Grove Avenue, formerly Live Oak Avenue, as shown on Map of Tract No. 7122, recorded in Book 1l7, page 83 of Maps, records of said County. SECTION 2. That this Council finds that said tract of land is not appropriate, convenient or necessary for park purposes and that no consideration has been paid therefor except by said City of Arcadiaf that such purported park has not been used by the public for park purposes and that no public funds have been expended to improve the same as a park. SECTION ~. That the public interest and convenience require and it is the intention of the City Council of the City of Arcadia to abandon and discontinue said purported park and to sell and convey the land therein~ SECTION 4. That the land comprising such park has not been purchased, in part or in whole, from funds realized from the sale of bonds of a bond issue, or bond issues, authorized for the purpose of acquiring such land for such park purpose. \"I!lti#' SECTION 5. Notice is hereby given that on Tuesday the 4th day of March, 1947, at 8:00 o'clock P.M. of said day, in the Council Chamber of the City Council in the City Hall of said City of Arcadia any and all persons having objections to the proposed abandonment and dis- continuance of said park property may appear before said City Council and show cause why said park property should not be abandoned, discontinued, sold and conveyed in accordance with this Resolutioh. SECTION 6. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution and shall cause the same to be published once a week for at least three successive weeks, prior to the date fixed herein for the hearing before the City Council, in the Arcadia Tribune and Arcadia News, a newspaper of general circulation, pub- lished and circulated in the City of Arcadia, and hereby designated for that purpose.
