HomeMy WebLinkAbout1589 RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. 1589 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO ABANDON EASEMENTS FOR \'lATER LINE PURPOSES COVERING CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY IN SAID CITY. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA CALIFORNIA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. iVHEREAS, easements for water line purposes have been acquired by the City of Arcadia covering the follow- ing described real property situate within the corporate limits of said City by deed recorded in Book 15133, page 28 of the Official Records of the County of Los Angeles, to wit: An easement over a strip of land 5 feet wide, the center line of which is parallel with and distant 12 feet easterly from the ~est line of lots 8 to 14 inclusive, of Tract No. 14242, as shown on map recorded in Book 291, pages 35 and 36 of Maps, in the office of the County Recorder of Los Angeles County. SECTION 2. That this Council finds that said easement is not necessary for present or prospective public use for the purposes for which it was acquiredr SECTION 3. That the public interest and convenience require and it is the intention of the City Council of the City of Arcadia to vacate and abandon said easements, a map or pman of the proposed vacation being on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City to which map or plan reference is hereby made for particulars as to the proposed vacation. SECTION 4. Notice is hereby given that oh Tuesday, March 18, 1947, at 8:00 o'clock P.M. of said day, in the Council Chamber of the City Council in the City Hall of the said City of Arcadia any and all persons interested in or objecting to the proposed vacation may appear and be heard by said City Council and show cause why said easements should not be vacated and abandoned in accordance with this Resolution. SECTION 5. The Superintendent of streets shall post or caused to be posted conspicuously along the line of the easements ~.t> \~t>"" r proposed to be vacated at not more than three hundred feet (300') in distance apart, but not less than three (3) in all, notices of the passage of this Resolution of Intention. SECTION 6. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution and shall cause the same to be published once in the Arcadia Tribune and Arcadia News, a newspaper of general circulation, published and circulated in the City of Arcadia, and hereby designated for that purpose,. I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution of Intention was adopted at a regular mepting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia, held on the X8th day of February, 1947, by the af- firmative vote of at least three Councilmen, to wit: AYES: Councilmen Adcock, Leeper, Nugent, Ormsby and Russell NOES: None ABSENT: None ~~ City Clerk of ~, ,t;? e' --->~ Arcadia SIGNED and APPROVED this 18th day of February, 1947.
