RESOLUTION NO. 1423.
RESULUTION OF THE CITY COuNCIL OF TEE CITY OF ARCADIA
EXPRESSING APPRECI~TION FOR THE A~\IINISTRATION BY VARIOUS CITIZENS
OF THE FEDERAL RATION AND PRICE CONTROL SYSTEM IN THE CITY OF
ARCADIA.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF TIlE CITY OF ARCiillIA DOES RESOLVE AS
FOLLO';S:
SECTION 1. ~REAS, on the 8th day of December, 1941, the
United States Congress declared a state of war existed with
Germany and Japan, and
WHEREAS, immediately following such declaration, the Federal
Government instituted a system of rationing and price control of
food and other critical materials and supplies, and through the
OFFICE GF PRICE ADMINISTRATION established various local boards
to assist in the administration of the provisions of the ration-
ing and price control system, and
WHEREAS, shortly thereafter, in order to afford greater
convenience to the people of Arcadia, the citizens of Arcadia,
acting through various local civic orGanizations, were successful
in having established in the City of Arcadia Looal Ration and
Price Control Board No. 82-5-87, and
WHEREAS, a number of citizens of Arcadia have, without
compensation, faithfully and generously devoted time, effort and
ability to the administration of the ration and price control
system in this Community, with the result that Arcadia has firmly
established a record of efficiency, courtesy and impartiality in
such administration, which record is in keeptng with our civic
reputation,
NOW, TIIZREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Counc1l, on
behalf of the people of Arcadia and in its own behalf, does hereby
extend this expression of appreciation for the patriotic 8erv~oe
rendered through Local Board No. 82-5-87 by the following named
members of said Board:

Leo M. Meeker, Edith Clark, Fred W. Rulison, Thomas P. Kelso,
Arthur E. Richards, George Blanchard, J.E. MacIntyre, Nathan
Andrews, A. C. Delkin, Dan C. Reib, Edward L. Newell, Ralph
Ericsson, J. D. Stanley, John Schweisthal, Lorainn6 Brewster,
F.Harold Roach, Gordon Eberly, Emmett Roscher, James C. Bone,
Judge LeRoy Anderson, Charles E. Hoover and William Orr.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this Resolution.
I her0by certify that the foregoing Resolution was adopted
at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia,
held on the 18th day of September, 1945, by the affirmative vote
of at least three Councilmen, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen, Adcock, Leeper, Nugent, Ormsby and Russell
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
