A RESOLTJTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, PROVIDING
FOR ThE HOLDIiqG OF A GENERAL ).!lJNICIPAL ELECTION IN SAID CITY ON THE 9th
DAY OF APRIL, 1946; DESIGNATING THE OFFICES TO BE FILmD AT SAID ELEC-
TION: ORDERING A CERTAIN IlEASURE SUBMITTED' TO THE ErECTORS; PROVIDING FOR
THE POLLING PLACES FOR TIiE HOIDI~G OF SUCH AN ELECTION, APPOI1~ING THE
ELECTION OFFICERS FOR THE SA;m A;m FIXING THEIR COMPENSATION.
TJl!E CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLGI/S:
SECTION 1. That a general municipal election be and the same is
hereby called to be held in the City of Arcadia, State of California, on
Tuesday the 9th day of April, 1946, for the following purposes;
1. For the purpose of electing the following officers to wit:
(a) Three (3) members of the City Council of said City of Arcadia
to hold office for the full term or period of four (4) years from and
after the 9th day of April, 1946;
(b) A City Clerk of the City of Arcadia to hold office for the
unexpired term or period of two (2) years from and after the 9th day
of April, 1946.
2. For the purpose of submitting to the qualified electors of the
City of Arcadia the following measure:
"Shall the City of Arcadia adopt Ordinance No.573 of said
City, entitled "An Ordinance of the City Counc il of the
City of Arcadia reclassifying certain real property in
said city and establishing said real property as a portion
of Zone C-2 of said City of Arcadia as defined in Ordinance
No .439 of said City adopted June 28, 1940.", providing
that the permitted uses of the real property hereinafter
described, and its zone classification shall be thereby
changed and reclassified from the residential uses per-
mitted in Zone R-l, as defined in Ordinance No.439 of
said City, to the commercial uses permitted in Zone C-2,
likewise as defined in said Ordinance No.439, and making
said real property a part of said Zone C-2.
Said real property is located at the Northeast corner of
Huntington Drive and Michillinda Ave.. and is more particulal'-
ly described as follows:

That portion of Lot 6 of Tract ko. 949 in the City of
Arcad1a, County of Los Anleles, State of Ca11fornia, as
shown on map recorded in Book 17, Pa!e 13 ot Maps, records
of Los Angeles County, and of Huntington Dri.. vacated
as described in Ordinance No. 233 of said City and re-
corded in Book 9,68, Page 282 of Offieial Hecords ot sadd
County deseribed as fo110wsI Be!inning at the intersection
of Westerly line of said Lot 6 with the Northerly line of
Huntington Drive 80 feet wide as described in deed to said
City of Arcadia, recorded in Book 9396, Page 14, of official
Records of said County; thence North 00 ,3' 10" West along
the Westerly line of said Lot 6, 11,4." feet thence South
620 22' 13" East, 243.47 feet to the beginning of a tan-
gent curve concave to the Southwest and havi"l s radius
of 760 feet; thence Southeasterly along said curve 762.,0

feet; thence South 4 53' 10" East, tangent to said curve,
380 feet to the intersection with the North line of said
Huntington Drive; thence South 8,0 06' ,0" West along the
North line of said Huntington Drive to the point of beginning.
SECTION 2. That for the purpose of holding said election there shall
be and are hereby established ten (10) election precincts designated as
hereinafter stated. That the polling places for the respective pre-
cincts shall be the places hereinafter designated, and that the persona
hereinafter named, being competent and qualified electors and residents
of said City, and of their respective election precincts are hereby
appointed officers of election for their respective election preCincts,
and they shall hold said election and make return thereof in the manner
provided by law.
Voting Precinct A shall consist of the regular election Precincts
Nos. 1, 14 and 29 in the City of Arcadia as now established for the hold-
ing of state and county elections.

SECTION 3. That the polls for said election shall be o~ened', at
7:00 o'clock A.M. on the day of said election and shall remain open contin-
l1dus;ly-, from said time unti17:00 o'clock P.M. of the said day.
SECTION 4. That said general municipal election shall be held in
accordance with the provisions of the Election Code of the State of
California. pertaining to cities of the sixth class, and with the General
Election Laws of the state of California.
SECTION 5._ That the compensation to be paid to each of the said officers
of election for all services by each of said officers to be rendered at
said general muniCipal election shall be and the same is hereby fixed at
the sum of $ g. 00

SECTION 6. That said City Council will meet in the Council Chamber
of the City Hall on Tuesday, April 16th, 1946, at the hour of 8100 o'clock
P.M. to canva~the returns of said election and declare the results thereof.
SECTION 7. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
Resolution.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was adopted at a n
adjourned regular meeting of the City Council of said City of Arcadia,
held on the 26th day of February, 1946, by the affirmative vote of at
