A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DETERMIN- ING THE NaTURE, LOCATION AND EXTENT OF THE PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION OF AN ORN~!tENTAL LIGHTING SYSTEM ON PORTIONS OF HUNTINGTON DRIVE AND FIRST AVENUE, IN THE CITY OF ARCADIA, DEFINING THE BOUNDARIES OR EXTENT OF THE DISTRICT OR LANDS TO BE SPECIALLY ASSESSED TO PAY THE COST Tffi:REOF AND DETEIDdINING THE STATUTE UNDER WHICH SAID PROCEEDINGS SHALL BE CONDUCTED. THE CITY COJNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLO'i/S: SECTION 1. That the public interest, convenience and necessity require that an ornamental street lighting system be constructed upon and along portions of Huntington Drive and First Avenue, in said City. SECTION 2. That pursuant to the provisions of an Act of the Legislature of the State of California, designated as the Special Investigation, Limitation and Majority Portest Act of 1931, being Division 4 of the Streets and Highway Code. it is hereby determined that the nature, location and extent of the proposed ornamental light- ing system shall be in accordance with the plans heretofore prepared by the City Engineer of the City of Arcadia and which are shown on map of Assessment District No. W-42, which were, on the 2nd day of April, 1946, filed with the Clerk of this Council, and reference is hereby made to said plans so filed for all particulars relative to the nature, location and extent of said proposed improvement, and it is hereby ordered that said plans be made open to the inspection of any person or persons desiring to inspect the sa~e. SECTION 3. That there shall be contributed by the City of Arcadia the sum of Seven Thousand Five Hundred ($7,500.00) Dollars which said sum shall be applied toward payment of the cost of the construction of said ornamental street lighting system in the district to be specially assessed to pay the cost of said improvement. SECTION 4. That the district to be specially assessed to pay the cost of said improvement except that portion to be paid by the City of Arcadia as provided herein, shall include all that portion of the City of Arcadia, County of Los Angeles, State of California, shown on map of Assessment District No. W-42 included within the colored boundary line, which said map has heretofore been filed with the Clerk of this Council , and which said map shall govern for all details as to the extent of said -1- I.\~ J:"~_ Assessment District. SECTION 5. It is hereby determined that the proposed improve- ment and all proceedings for the issuance and payment of Street Improvement Bonds representing assessments for the cost thereof, and provisions for all other acts necessary to conduct the proposed pro- ceedings shall be conducted under the provisions of an Act of the Legislature of the State of California designated as the Improvement Act of 1911, being Division 7 of the streets and Highway Code. SECTION 6. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia, held on thelbthday of April, 1946, by the affirmative vote of at least three Councilmen, to wit: AYES: Councilmen, Adoook, Cornyn, Nugent, Ormsby and Russell NOES: None ABSENT: None ~~~~ City Clerk. . t' Signed and approved this 16th day of April, 1946.
