A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING THE RULES AND REGULATIONS SUPPLEMENTING ORDINANCES NOS. 431, 438 AND 446 OF SAID CITY. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLmIS: SECTION 1. ThatSection 4 of Rule VI of the Rules and Reguaations supplementing Ordinances Nos. 431, 438 and 446, creating the personnel system of the City of Arcadia,pursuant to recommendation heretofore made by the Personnel Board of the City of Arcadia, be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: SECTION 4. (a) Any permanent employee may, upon approval of his department head, be granted sick leave with full pay to be accumu- lated on the basis of one (I) day for each month of service. Any such employee may accumulate up to a maximum of thirty (30) days sick leave with full pay; (b) Any such employee may, upon approval of his department head, be granted sick leav.e at one-half (1/2) pay, to be accumulated on the basis on one (1) day for each month of service. No sick leave at one-half (1/2) pay shall be accumulated until after the maximum amount of sick leave at full pay shall have been accumulated. Any such employee may accumulate up~to a maximum of sixty (60) days sick leave with one-half (1/2) pay after having accumulated thirty (30) days sick leave with full pay, as provided in Section 4 (a) hereOf, (c) Sick leave time as provided in this rule shall accumulate from the date of the adoption of the personnel system by the City of Arcadia, and shall include such days as may be in excess of the thirty (30) day maximum of sick leave heretofore allowed; (d) The Personnel Board may require a medical exam- ination by the City's physician of any employee during absence on account of illness of such employee; (e) Sick leave is defined to mean absenceframduty of an employee beoause of illness, exp~sure to contagious disease, attendance upon a member of his immediate family seriously ill and requiring the care and attendance of such employee, or death in the immediate family of the employee. f),I-:'C!:iP -1- (f) The Board may require evidence of the adequacy of the reason for any employee's absence caused by illness or death in the immediate family of the employee durin; the time for which sick leave is requested. SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was adopted at a re.gular meeting of the Ci ty Council of the City of Arcadia, held on the 2nd day of April, 1946, by the affirmative vote of at least three Councilmen, to wit: AYES: Councilmen, Adcock, Leeper.
