HomeMy WebLinkAbout1466 R8S0LUTION NO. ..l466. lUSOLUTION OF TEl!.: CI'l'Y COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, STATING THl!.: RESULT OF THl!: CANVASS OF JUGTIOn R8TUHNS OF TEl!.: SP3CIAL BOND ELECTION HELD APRIL 30, 1946. vmEREAS, the City Council of the City of Arcadia, California, by Ordinance, duly called and Rrovided for the holding of a special election in said City on April 30, 1946, for the purpose of submitting to the qualified voters of said City the bond propo- sition set forth in said Ordinance and hereinafter stated; and liHLR6AS, notice of said election was duly and regularly given in time, form, and manner as provided by law, and said election was on the said date duly held at the polling places designated in said Ordinance and the votes cast thereat were canvassed and the returns thereof made at the time and in the manner and form provided by law; and VIH8REAS, on this 7th day of May, 1946, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock, P.!\l., said City Council has duly assembled at its usual place of meeting and has canvassed the returns of said election; NOV!, Tfu:R8PORE, the City C ounc 11 of the City of Arcadia, California, DO~S H8RbBY R8S0LVE, D~TEmJINE AND ORDER as follows: Section 1. That the special election for the purpose of submitting to the voters of the City of Arcadia the bond proposition hereinafter set forth was duly held on April 30, 1946, and the votes cast thereat were duly and regularly canvassed and the returns thereof made at the time and in the form and manner required by law. Section 2. That the bond proposition voted upon at said election is as follows, to wit: "BOi'lD PROPOSITION:. Shall the City of Arcadia incur a bonded indebtedness in the principal sum of $350,000.00 for the purpose of the acquisition and construction by said Ci ty of a certain municipal improve- ment, to vl1t: trunk and interceptor sanitary sevlers for said City, including the acquisition of all pipe, equipment, apparatus, materials, easements and property necessary or convenient therefor?IP Sec tion 3. Tha tall abs ent vote r ba llots is sued had been received or returned and accounted for by May 1, 1946, and on that date were duly counted and canvassed, and the result of such count is hereinafter stated. That this Ci ty Council has duly canvassed the returns of said election and from said returns it appears, and this City Council finds, that the total number of votes cast in each of the respective election precincts es tablished for said election upon said proposition, and the number of votes therein for and aGainst said proposi tion, and the total number of votes cas t in sa id Ci ty upon said propos i tion and for and against said proposition in said City are as follows: 2.
