RESOLUTION NO. 1318.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DETERMINING THE NATURE,
LOCATION AND EXTENT OF THE PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION OF CONCRETE CURBS
ON A PORTION OF EL MONTE AVENUE, IN THE CITY OF ARCADIA, DEFINING THE
BOUNDARIES OR EXTENT OF THE DISTRICT OR LANDS TO BE SPECIALLY ASSESSED
TO PAY THE COST TJ;:EREOF AND DETERMINING THE STATUTE UNDER WHICH SAID
PROCEEDINGS SHALL BE CONDUCTED.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLO~S:
SECTION 1.That the public interest, convenience and necessity
require that concrete curbs be constructed upon and along a portion of
EI Monte Avenue in said City.
SECTION 2. That pursuant to the prOVisions of an Act of the
Legislature of the state of California, designated as the "Special
Investigation, Limitation and Majority Protest Act of 193111, as amended,
it is hereby determined that the nature, location and extent of the
proposed concrete curbs shall be in accordance with the Plans and Specifi-
cations heretofore prepared by the City Engineer of the City of Arcadia,
said plans being designated as Plan No. C-167, Sheet I, which were, on
the 3rd day of October, 1944, filed Idth the Clerk of this Council, and
reference is hereby made to said Plans and Specifications so filed for
all particulars relative to the nature, location and extent of said
proposed improvement, and it is hereby ordered that said Plans and
Specifications be made open to the inspection of any person or persons
desiring to inspect the same.
SECTION 3. That the boundary of the district to be specially
assessed to pay the cost of said improvement shall include all those lots
fronting on and adjacent to El Monte Avenue. between Duarte Road and
Naomi Avenue, and is more particularly described as follows:
All that portion of the said City of Arcadia, County of Los
Angeles, State of California, included within the following
described exterior boundary line, to-wit:
Beginning at the intersection of the center line of Duarte Road
with the Northerly prolongation of the Westerly line of Lot 2,
Tract No. 10994, as shown on map recorded in Book 197, Page 47
of Maps, records of said County; thence Southerly along said
prolongation and the Westerly line of said Lot 2 of the South-
westerly corner thereof; thence Westerly along the Northerly
line of Lot 6 of said Tract to the Northwesterly corner thereof;
thence Southerly along the Westerly line of said Lot 6 to an
angle point therein; thence Southeasterly along the Westerly
lines of Lots 6 to 12 inclusive and Lot 20 of said Tract to the
Southwesterly corner of said Lot 20; thence Westerly along the
Northerly line of Lot 24, Tract No. 10993, as shovffi on map

recorded in Book 193, Pages 39 and 40 of Maps, records of said
County, to the Northwesterly corner of said Lot 24; thence
Southerly along the Westerly line of said Lot 24 and its South-
erly prolongation to its intersection with the center line of
Naomi Avenue; thence Easterly along said Center line and its
Easterly prolongation to its intersection with a line which is
171.03 feet Easterly from and parallel with the Easterly line
of EI Monte Avenue (80 feet wide); then ce Northerly along
said parallel line and its Northerly prolongation to its inter-
section with the center line of Duarte Road; thence Westerly
along said center line to the place of beginning.
The foregoing description is general only. A plat or map of said'
District indicating by a boundary line the extent of the lands included
in the proposed Assessment District is on file in the office of the City
Engineer of the City of Arcadia. Reference is hereby made to said plat
or map for a further, full and complete description of said Assessment
District, which said plat or map is designated as Assessment District
No. W-39, and said map so on file shall govern for all details as to
the extent of such Assessment District.
SECTION 4. It is hereby determined that the proposed improve-
ment and all proceedings for the issuance and payment of Street Improve-
ment Bonds representing assessments for the cost thereof, and provisions
for all other acts necessary to conduct the proposed proceedings shall be
conducted under the provisions of an Act of the Legislature of the State
of California designated as the IIImprovement Act of 1911", approved 19l1,
as amended.
SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
Resolution.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was adopted at
a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia, held on
the 3rd day of October, 1944, by the affirmative vote of at least
three Councilmen, to-wit:
