RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. 1327.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA
DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO IMPROVE A PORTION OF EL MONTE AVENUE IN SAID
CITY OF ARCADIA, AND DECLARING SAID VlORK OR IMPROVE;liliHT '1'0 BE OF MORE
THAN LOCAL OR ORDINARY PUBLIC BENEFI'l' AND DESCRIBING THE DI STRICT TO BE
BENEFITED BY SAID WORK OR IMProVEMENT AND TO BE ASSESSED TO PAY THE COSTS
AND EXPENSES THEREOF, AND DETERMINING TF.AT SERIAL BONDS SHALL BE ISSUED
TO REPRESENT SAID COSTS AND EXPENSES AND FIXING A TIME FOR BEARING
OBJECTIONS TO SAID WORK OR IMPROVEMENT, OR TO THE EXTENT OF THE DISTRICT
TO BE ASSESSED, OR BOTH.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DOES RESOLVE AS
FOLLOIVS:
SECTION I. That the public llinterest and convenience require#
and it is the intention of the City Council of the City of Arcadia, to
order the following work and improvement to be done in said City of
Arcadia, to-wit:
First: That a concrete curb be constructed on each side of
El Monte Avenue from the Southerly line of Duarte Road to the Northerly
line of Naomi Avenue.
SECTION 2. That the grade to which the work hereinabove
described shall be done and the improvement made as provided in this
Resolution is sho\1n on Profile and Improvement Plan No. C-167 on file in
the office of the City Engineer of said City# to which Profile reference
is hereby made for the description of such grade.
SECTION 3. All of the foregoing work shall be done in accord-
Ance with said Profile and Improvement Plan No. C-167 on file in tbe
office of tbe City Engineer of said City of Arcadia.
All work on grading and the construction of concrete curbs
shall be in accordance with the following Specifications on file in the
office of the City Clerk of said City of Arcadia, to-wit, "Standard
Specifications No. 0 for the construction of curbs, sidewalks, gutters,
Oil Macadam pavement and concrete pavement. II
Said Profile and Improvement Plan No. C-167 and the Specifications
hereinabove referred to were adopted by Resolution No. 1325 of said City
Council of the City of Arcadia, and the same are hereby made a part of
this Resolution and are hereby referred to for a more particular descrip-
tion of said work. All streets and avenues referred to in this Resolution
are public streets and avenues of said City of Arcadia.

SECTION 4. That said contemplated work and improvement in
the opinion of the City Council of said City of Arcadia, is of more
than local or ordinary public benefit and said City Council hereby makes
the expense of said work and improvement chargeable upon the District#
which District said City Council hereby declares to be the District
benefited by said work and improvement and to be assessed to pay the costs
and expenses thereof, which said District is bounded and described as
follows:
All that portion of the said City of Arcadia, County of Los Angeles#
State of California, included within the following described exterior
boundary line, to-wit:
Beginning at the intersection of the center line of Duarte Road with the
Northerly prolongation of the Westerly line of Lot 2, Tract No. 10994#
as shown on map recorded in Book 19?# Page 47 of Maps, records of said
County; thence Southerly along said prolongation and the Westerly line
of said Lot 2 of the Southwesterly corner thereof; thence Westerly along
the Northerly line of Lot 6 of said Tract to the Northwesterly corner
thereof; thence Southerly along the Westerly line of said Lot 6 to an
angle point therein; thence Southeasterly along the Westerly lines of
Lots 6 to 12 inclusive and Lot 20 of said Tract to the Southwesterly
corner of said Lot 20; thence Westerly along the Northerly line of
Lot 24, Tract No. 10993, as shown on map recorded in Book 193, ~ages
39 and 40 of Maps, records of said County, to the Northwesterly corner
of said Lot 24; thence Southerly along the Westerly line of said Lot 24
and its Southerly prolongation to its intersection with the center line
of Naomi Avenue; thence Easterly along said Center line and its Easterly
prolongation to its intersection with a line which is 171.03 feet Easterly
from and parallel wIth the Easterly line of EI Monte Avenue (80 feet wide);
thence Northerly along said parallel line and its Northerly prolongation m
its intersection with the center line of Duarte Road; thence Westerly
along said center line to the place of beginning.
The foregoing description is general only. A plat or map of said
District indicating by a boundary line the extent of the lands included
in the proposed Assessment District is on file in the office of the City
Engineer of the City of Arcadia. Reference is hereby made to said plat

or map for a further, full and complete description of said Assessment
District, which said plat or map is designated as Assessment District
No. W-39, and said map so on file shall govern for all details as to
the extent of such Assessment District.
SECTION 5. Said City Council also determines and dec:lares
that Serial Bonds shall be issued to represent each assessment of
Twenty-Five ($25.00) Dollars, or more, remaining unpaid for thirty (30)
days after the date of the Warrant to represent the expenses of said
work and improvement. Said Serial Bonds shall extend over a period
ending nine (9) years from the second day of January next succeeding
th'e fifteenth day of the next October following their date and an even
annual proportion of the principal sum thereof shall be payable by coupon
on the second day of January, every year after the fifteenth day of the
next October follo\nng their date, until the whole is paid, and the
interest shall be payable semi-annually by coupon on the second days of
January and July respectively of each year after their date at the rate
of six (6%) per cent per annum on all sums unpaid until the \mole of said
principal and interest are paid. Said Bonds and interest thereon shall
be payable at the office of the City Treasurer of the City of Arcadia,
SECTION 6. Notice is hereby given that on Tuesday, the 5th
~ day of December, 1944. at the hour of 8:00 o'clock, P.M., on said day.
in the Court Room at the Police Station of said City of Arcadia, any and
all persons having any objections to said proposed work or improvement
or to the extent of the District to be assessed, or both, may appear before
said City Council and show cause why said proposed work or improvement
should not be carried out in accordance with this Resolution.
SECTION 7. All of the proceedings for the aforesaid work and
improvement and for the issuance of said Bonds shall be had and taken
under and in accordance with the prOVisions of an Act of the Legislature
of the State of California, known and designated as the "Improvement Act
of 19l1", approved April 7, 1911, and of all Acts supplementary thereto
or amendatory thereof.
SECTION 8. The Superintendent of Streets shall post or cause
to be posted conspiciously along the line of said contemplated work or

improvement and also along all the open streets within the District
liable to be assessed and hereinabove described, notices of the passage
of this Resolution in the manner and form required by law.
SECTION 9. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
Resolution and shall cause the same to be published twice in the Arcadia
Tribune and Arcadia News, a newspaper of general circulation, published
and circulated in the City of Arcadia and hereby designated for that
purpose; the City Clerk shall also mail notice of the adoption of this
Resolution to all persons owning real property proposed to be assessed.

for City Taxes. or as known to said Clerk. Such notice shall be given
in the manner and form required by said tlImprovement Act of 1911tl
approved April 7, 1911, and of all Acts supplementary thereto or amendatory
thereof.
The foregoing Resolution of Intention was adopted at a
regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia, held on the
