A RESOLUTION OF 'l'HE CITY OF ARCADIA DE'l'ER:.mUNG 'l'HE UA'rURE,
LOCATION AND EXTENT OF T"rlE PROPOSED C0NS'l'RUCTION OF CONCRE'l'E CURBS
ON A PORTION OF LONGDEN AVENUE, IN THE CITY OF ARCADIA, DEFINING THE
BOUNDARIES OR EXTENT OF THE DISTRICT OR L.I\.NDS TO BE SPECIAi.LY ASSESSED
TO PAY 'l'1IE COST THEREOF AND DE"'ERl.lINING 'l'HE STATUTE UNDER '.mICH SAID
PROCEEDINGS SF.ALL BE COlWU'o'l'ED.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF T~~ CITY OF ARCADIA DOES RESOLVE AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the public interest, convenience and necessity
require that concrete curbs be constructed upon and along a portion of
Longden Avenue in said City.
SECTION 2. That pursuant to the prOVisions of an Act of the
Legislature of the State of California, desie;nated as the "Special
Investisation, Limitation and Majority Protest Act of 1931", as amended.
it is hereby determined that the nature, location and extent of the
proposed concrete curbs shall be in accordance with the Plans and Specifi-
cations heretofore prepared by the City Engineer of the City of Arcadia.
said plans being designated as Plan No. C-168, Sheet 1. which were, on
the 5th day of December, 1944, filed with the Clerk of this Council, and
reference is hereby made to said Plans and Specifications so filed for
all particulars relative to the nature, location and extent of said
proposed improvement, and it is hereby ordered that said Plans and
Specifications be made open to the inspection of any person or persons
desiring to inspect the same.
SECTION 3. That the boundary of the district to be specially
assessed tg pay the cost of said improvement shall include all those
lots fronting on and adjacent to Longden Avenue between Baldwin Avenue
and Holly Avenue, and is more particularly described as follows:
All that portion of the said City of Arcadia, County of Los
'AnGeles, State of Califofl1ia, included >Qthin the follo~ing
described exterior boundary line, to-wit:
Beginning at the intersection of the center line of Baldwin
Avenue with the Westerly prolongation of the Socmherly line
of lot I, Tract No. 8962, as shovm on map recorded in Book
121, Page 83 of Maps, records of said County; thence Easterly
along said prolonGation and the Southerly line of said lot 1
to the Southeasterly corner thereof; thence Southerly to the
Southwesterly corner of lot 12 of said Tract; thence Easterly
parallel VQ th and 253.56 feet Southerly from the Southerly
line of Longden Avenue to a point 64 feet Easterly fron the
Westerly line of lot 13, Tract No. 4467, as shown on map
recorded in Book 53, Page 10 of Maps. records of said County;

thence Northerly 0.06 feet; thence Easterly parallel vdth
and 253.50 feet Southerly from the Southerly line of Longden
Avenue to'the Easterly line of said lot 13; thence Southerly
0.06 feet; thence Easterly parallel with and 253.56 feet
Southerly from the Southerly line of Longden Avenue to the
center line of Holly Avenue; thence Northerly thereon to a
point 278 feet Northerly from the center line of Longden
Avenue; thence Westerly parallel with and 248 feet Northerly
from the Northerly line of Longden Avenue to a point 229.5
feet westerly from the westerly line of Holly Avenue; thence
Southerly 15.70 feet; thence Westerly parallel with and
232.30 feet Northerly from the Northerly line of Longden
Avenue to.the Westerly line of lot 7 of said Tract No. 4467;
thence Southerly 22.30 feet; thence Westerly parallel Inth
and 210 feet. Northerly fro~ the Northerly line of Longden
Avenue to the Westerly line of Lot 4 of said Tract No. 4467;
thence Southerly 0.37 feet; thence Westerly parallel with
and 209.63 feet Northerly from the Northerly line of Longden
Avenue to a point 151.82 feet'Westerly from the Easterly'
line of lot 1 of said Tract No. 4467; thence Southerly 69.63
feet; thence Westerly 50 feet; thence Southerly 60 feet;
thence Westerly paralleill wIth and 80 feet Northerly from the
Northerly line of Longden Avenue to the center line of Baldwin
Avenue; thence Southeasterly thereon to the point of beginning.
The foregoing description is general only. A plat or map
of said District indicating by a boundary line the extent of the lands
included in the proposed Assessment District is on file in the office of
the City Engineer of the City of Arcadia. Reference is hereby. made to
said plat or m ap for a further, full and complete description of said
Assessment District, which said plat or map is designated as Assessment
District No. W-40, and said map so on file shall govern for all details
as to the extent of such Assessment District.
SECTION 4. It is hereby determined that the proposed
improvement and all proceedings for the issuance and payment of street
Improvement Bonds representing assessments for the cost thereof, and
provisions for all other acts necessary to conduct the proposed pro-
ceedings shall be conducted under the provisions of an Act of the
Legislature of the State of California designated as the "Improvement
Act of 1911".
SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Resolution.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was adopted at
a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia, held on
the 5th day of December, 1944, by the affirmative vote of at least three
Councilmen, to-wit:
