A RESOL;JTION OF Tilli CIl'Y OF AiWADIA K:lARDHG Cvl;'l'..ACT FDR
CER1'AIN WORK AND I:.iPROVE:.;ElTT OIl A PORTION OF EL j,IONT!i; AVENUE IN SAID
CITY OF ARCADIA.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF 'l'HE CI'l'Y OF ARC,,~IA DO;:;S RESOLVE AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Vn!K;SAS, the City Council of the City of Arcadia
did in open session at its regular meeting on December 19, 1944, public-
ly open, exa~ine and declare all sealed proposals or bids for doin~
certain work and improvement on a portion of El 1,lonte Avenue in the
City of Arcadia; that Resolution of Intention No. 1327, heretofore
adopted by this Council on the 8th day of November, 1944, contains
a complete description of said TIork and im~rovement and reference is
hereby made to said Resolution of Intention No. 1327 for a complete
description of said work and improvement.
SECTION 2. That the erade to which the work hereinabove
described shall be done and the improvement made as provided in tl1is
Resolution is shown on Profile and Improvement Plan No. C-167 on file in
the office of the City Ene;ineer of said City, to which Profile reference
is hereby made for the description of such grade.
SEC1'IO;, 3. All of the fore.::;oin::; work shall be done in accord-
ance with said Profile and Improvement Plan No. C-167 on file in the
office of the City En~ineer of said City of Arcadia.
All work on grading and the construction of concrete curbs
shall be in accordance with tl~ followin3 Specifications on file in the
office of the City Clerk of the said City of Arcadia, to-Vlit, lIStandard
Specifications No. 0 for the construction of curbs, sidewalks, gutters,
Oil ),ladadam pavement and concrete pavement. 1I
Said Profile and Improvement Plan No. 0-167 and the Specifi-
cations hereinabove refe~red to were adopted by Resolution No. 1325
of said City Council of the City of Arcadia, and the same are hereby
made a part of this Resolution and are hereby referred to for a more
particular description of said work. All streets and avenues referred
to in this Resolution are public streets and avenues of said City of
Arcadia.

SECTION 4. That said contemplated work and improvement in
the opinion of the City Council of the City of Arcadia, is of more
than local or ordinary pUblic benefit and said City COR~cil hereby
makes the expense of said I'lork and improvement chargeable upon the
District, which District said CiI;y Council hereby declares to be the
District benefited by said work and improvement and to be assessed to
pay the cost and ex.:enses thersof, which said Distl'ict is completely
described in Resol~tion of Intention No. 1327, heretofore adopted by
this Counci~ on the 8th day of November, 1944, and to which Resolution
reference is hereby made for a complete description of said District
to be assessed to pay the cost and expense of said l"Iork and improvement.
SECTIOn 5. Said City Council also determines and declares
that Serial Bonds shall be issued to represent each assessment of
Tv/envy-Five (C25.00) Dollars, or more, remainin~ lIDpaid for thirty (30)
days after the date of the ITarrant to represent the expenses of said l"I~k
and improvement. Said Serial Bonds shall extend over a period ending
nine (9) years from the second day of January next succeeding the
fifteenth day of the next October followinG their date and an even
annual proportion of the principal Stun thereof shall be payable by
coupon on the second day of January, every year after the fifteenth
day of the next October follo\7in;,; their date, until the whole is paid,
and the interest shall be payable semi-annually by coupon on the
second days of January and July respectively of each year after their
date at the rate of six (6%) per cent per anntUTI on all SQYilS unpaid
until the whole of said principal and interest are paid. Said bonds
and interest thereon shall be payable at the office of the City
Treasurer of the City of Arcadia.
SECTIOn 6. All of the proceedinGS for the aforesaid \'lork and
improvement and for the issuance of said Bonds shall be had and taken
under and in accord~~ce with the provisions of an Act of the Legislature
of the State of Cali fornia, known and de signa ted as the "Improvement
Act of 1911", approved April 7, 1911, and of all Acts suppleP,lentary
thereto or amendatory thereof.
Reference is hereby made to Resolution of Intention No. 1327

of said City Council, declarins its intention to order said \'iork to
be done for further rarticulars, which Resolution of Intention is on
file in the office of the City Clerk of said City of Arcadia.
NOW, T rffiREF ORE , BE IT RESOLVED, that said City Council her3by
rejects all of said proposals or bids except the next herein mentioned
and hereby awards the contImct for doinG said nork and improvement to
the lowest, regular, responsible bidder therefor, to-nit:

The City Clerk is hereby directed to publish notice of this
award tnice in the Arcadia Tribune and Arcadia News, a nenspaper of
general circulation, published and circulated in the City of Arcadia,
and hereby designated for that purpose by said City Council.
The City Clurk shall certify to the adoption of this
Resolution.
I hereby certify that the foregolng Resolution nas adopted
at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia, held
on the 19 day of December, 1944, by the affirmative vote of at least
three COQ~cibnen, to-wit:
