RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DECLA.R.ING ITS INTENTION TO ANNEX CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF ARCADIA, GIVING NO'l'ICE OF SAID PROPOSED ANNEXATION AND DESCRI6ING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE TE&lITORY PflOPOSED TO BE ANiffiXED. ," THE CITY COm~CIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DOES RESOLVE AS FDLLOWS: SECTION 1. WHEREAS, there has been filed with thfs Council the verified petition of Vido Kovacevich and Floyd A. Helman, asking that certain uninhabited territory in the County of Los Angeles be annexed to the City of Arcadia, and WHEREAS, it appears from said petition that more than one-fourth (1/4) of the area of the land in said terl'itory and more than one-fourth (1/4) of the assessed value of such territory, according to the last preceding equalized assessment roll of the County in which said territory is sttuated, is owned and represented by said petitioners, and WHEREAS, said territory contains an area of 34.606 acres, more or less, located at the northeasterly corner of the intersection of Baldwin Avenue and Foothill Boulevard in the County of Los Angeles, and having a frontage on the easterly side of Baldwin Avenue extending northerly from Foothill Boulevard 1258.54 feet more or less, and a frontage on the northerly side of Foothill Boulevard extending easterly from Baldwin Avenue 1201.20 feet, more or less, and more particularly described as follows: That por,tion of Lot 4, of Tract No. 948 in the County of Los Angele s, state of Cali fornia, as shown on map recorded in Book 17, Page 21 of Maps, records of said County described as follows: Beginning at a point in a line vnJich is 15 feet (measured at right angles) northerly from and parallel with the southerly line of Lot 4 of said Tract No. 948, distant 1201.20 feet easterly thereon from the westerly line of said Lot 4, said point being in the northerly line of Foothill Boulevard (80 feet in width) thence north 30 54' East, 1258.54 feet more or less to the nat'therly line of said Lot 4, thence westerly along said northerly line to the northwesterly corner of o said Lot 4, thence south 3 54' -1- west along the westerly line of said Lot 4, 1258.54 feet, more or less, to the intersection with the northerly line of said Foothill Boulevard; thence easterly along the northerly line of said Foothill Boulevard 1201.20 feet to the point of beginning, and WHEREAS, petitioners by said petition request that as a condition to such annexation, the City of Arcadia accept the dedication of a proposed road twenty (20) feet in width adjacent to and parallel with Foothill Boulevard, to be constructed within the territory to be annexed, at such time as the final map of the subdivision of said territory is approved by this Council, and WHEREAS, it appears to be to the best interests of the City of Arcadia that said territory described in said petition be annexed to the City of Arcadia, NOW, T}illREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that this City Council does declare its intention to annex said uninhabited territory described herein to the City of Arcadia, pursuant to the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939 of the state of California. SECTION 2. Notice is hereby given that on the 17th day of July, 1945, at 8:000lclock, P.M. of said day, in the Council Chamber in the Court Room of the Police Station of the City of Arcadia, any and all persons owning any real property within said territory proposed to be annexed to the City of Arcadia, and having any objections to the proposed annexation may appear before said City Council and show cause why said territory should not be so annexed to the City of Arcadia. SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution, and shall cause the same to be published once a week for two successive weeks prior to the date of hearing on July 17th~ 1945, in the Arcadia Tribune and Arcadia News, a newspaper of general circulation, p~blished and circulated in the City of Arcadia, and hereby designated for that purpose. -2- I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution ~as adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia, held on the 19th day of June, 1945, by the affirmative vote of at least three Councilmen, to-wit: AYES: Councilmen, Adcock, Leeper, Nugent, Ormsby and Russell NOES: None . . , ABSENT: None ~~~ --, Signed and approved this 19th day of June, 1945. 4. fi.D~4 Mayor ; I , ., ",- '-('- - -- , . - -. , :: ~ - .v . -3-
