THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CI'l'Y OF ARCil.')!ll. W":':; fuESOLVE AS FOLLO./S: SECTION 1. That the public interest and convenience require that certain work and 1mprovement be done in the City of Arcadia, and the City Council of the City of Arcadia hereby orders the same to be done in accordance with Specifications and Imvrovement Plan No. C-165, on file in the office of the City Engineer of said City of ArCadia, adopted for s~id work and under the direction and to the satisfaction of the Superintendent of Streets of said City of Arcadia; that Resolution of Intention No. 1200 heretofore adopted by this Council on the 18th day of Augustj 1942, contains a complete description of the work and improvement to be done pursuant to this Resolution and reference is hereby made to said Resolution of Intention No. 1200 for a complete description of said work and improvement. SECTION 2. That the grade to which the ..ork hereinabove described shall be done and the improvement made as provided in this Resolution, is ShO\7~~l on Profile and Improvement Plan No. C-165, on file in the office of the City Engineer of said City to which Profile reference is hereby made for the description of such Brade. SECTION 3. All the foreGoin~ work shall be done in accordance \"lith said Profile and Improvement Plan No. C-165, on file in the office of the City EnGineer of said City of Arcadia. All work on Brading and the construction of concrete curbs and gutters shall be in accordance with the following Specifications on file in tho office of the. City Clerk of said City of Arc!l'l1a, to-Vlit: IIStanuard Specifications No. 0 for the construction of curbs, sidewalks, ~utters, Oil IJacadam pe.vement and concrete paveruent. tI All work on street paving shall be in accordanco with the fo1lo\"lin~ specifications on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City of Arcadia, to.wit: t1Standard Specifications No.3 for the construo- tion of 2-1/4" oil macadam pavement and resurfacin8. II Said Profile and Improvement Plan No. C-165 and the Specification -1- .. ,.. hereinabove referred to were adopted by Resolution No. 1197 of said City Council of the City of Arcadia, ani the sallIe are hereby made a part of this Resolution an1 are h~reby referred to for a more particular descrip- tion of said work. All streets and avenues referred to in this Resolution are public streets and avenues of said City of Arcadia. SECTION 4. That said contemplated work and improvement in the opinion of the City Council of said City of Arcadia, is of more than local or ordinary public benefit and said City Council hereby makes the e~pense of said v~rk and improvement char3eable upon the District, which District said City Council hereby declares to be the District benef! ted by said work and :Improvement and to be assessed to pay the costs and expenses thereof, which said District is completely described in Resolution of Intention No. 1200, heretofore adopted by this Council on the 18th day of August, 1942, and to which Resolution referenee is hereby made for a complete description of said District to be assessed to pay the cost and expense of said work and improvement. SECTION ~. Said City Council also determines and declares that Serial Bonds shall be issued to represent each assessment of Twenty-Five i: ) ( ) (,.,25.00 Dollars, or more, remaining unpaid for thirty 30 days after the date of the \7arrant to represent the expenses of said work and improvement. Said Serial Bonds shall extend over a periOd ending nine (9) years from the second day of January next succeeding the fifteenth day of the next October following their date and an even annual proportion of the principal swn thereof shall be payable by coupon on the second day of January, every year after the fifteenth day of the next October follow- ing their date, until the whole is paid, and the interest shall be payable semi-annually by coupon on the second days of January and July respectively of each year after their date at the rate of six (6'&) per cent per annum on " all sums unpaid until the shole of said principal and interest are paid. v Said Bonds anu interest thereon shall be payable at the office of the City Treasurer of the City of Arcadia. SECTION 6~ All of the proceedings for the aforesaid v~rk and improvement and for the issuance of said Bonds shall be had and taken under and in accord,ance l1i th the provisions of an Act of the Lec;islature of the State of California, knOl'll1 and designated as the "Improvement Act -2- . ... of 1911", approved April 7, 1911, and of all Acta supplementary thereto or amendatory thereof. SECTION 7. The Arcadia Tribune and Arcadia News, a weekly newspaper of ~enera1 circulation, pUblished and circulated in said City of Arcadia, is hereby desiGnated as the newspaper in Which notice of said crork and improvement inviting sealed proposals shall be published in the manner and form and by the persons required by lav/. SECTION 8. The City Clerk of said City of Arcadia is hereby directed to post conspicuously for five days, on or near the Council Chamber door of said City Council, in the manner and form required by law, a notice, toc;other with the Specifications therefor, inviting sealed proposals or bids for doing said work and said City Clerk is also directed to publish twice in said newspaper designated as aforesaid in the manner and form required by law, a notice invitinG sealed p~- posals or bids for doinc; said work, and referring to the Specifications posted or on file. Said notice shall require a certified check or bond, either, as prescribed by law for an a~ount not less than ten per cent of the a~regate of the proposal. Said sealed proposals or bids shall be delivered to the City Clerk of said City ?f ~ t,. /tJ4').J. , Arcadia on or before eight o'clock, P.ll. Bids will be opened on said day and hour. , SECTION 9. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution.
