ARC1IDIA DOES Ri>SOLVE AS FOLLO'.iS: SECTION 1. That Section 3 of Rule VI. of the Rules and Regulations supplementing Ordinances Nos. 431, 438 and 446, creatine the personnel system of the City of Arcadia, pursuant to recommendation h~retofore made by the Personnel Board of the City of Arcadia, be and the s~ne is hereby amended to read as follows: ~~eTiH 91....,>t1J/~~" , SECTII:lN 3. ~ach permanent employee who shall have been in the service of the City continuously for one (1) year, the compensation for which position is fixed by the month or longer period, shall be allowed vacation for continuous service performed, exclusive of overt~e, in ,. the calendar year preceding, said vacation to be taken as follows: The first vacation after appointment to such a position may be taken after such porson shall have Deen in the service for a period of one (1) year, and shall consist of one (1) day (exclusive of Sunc1ays and Holidays) fOr each month of continuous service perfor~ed in the prccedin~ calendar year. The next and following vecntions ru1all be taken on a calendar year basis and shall consist of fifteen (15)days vacation for loemlcrs of the Fire and Police Dapart~ents, and two (2) weeks vacation \ for the other said per''1anent employees, for continuous service Ilerfo~ed durin3 the whole of the preceding calendar year, and may be tween at any time during the next calendar year after January 1 thereof next follow- ins the calendar year when such vacation privilege accumlusted. Provided, ho\wver, that such vacation shall be taken at the time prescribed by the appoint1n3 officer End no vacation shall be cumulative over more than one year. Provided further, that no person who shall have been absent on leave without pay during the calendar year preceding that in which a vacation is taken shall be allowed a vacation with full pay to exceed one (1) working day foreach month or major fraction of a month of active service, exclusive of overtime, perfcrned during such preceding calendar . month. SECTIOi-f 2. That Section 4. of Rule VI. of the above deecribed -1- .. Rules and Re3ulations, pursuant to recommendation heretofore made by the Personnel Board of the City of Arcadia, be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: SECTIOH 4. Any permanent employee may, upon recommedation of the Board and approval of the appointin~ power, be granted sick leave with full pay to be accumulated on the basis of one day for each month of service, Employees may accumulate up to a maximum of thirty (30) days sick leave. ,/.1, Sick leave is defined to mean basence from duty of an employee because oflllness, exposure to contagious disease, attendance upon a ~ member of his immediate fmnily seriously ill and requiring the care and attendance of such mlployee, or death in the imm~diate fanily of the employee. The board Day require evidence in the form of a physician'S certificate, or otherwise of the adequacy of the reason for any employee's absence durin~ the tlme for which sick leave is requosted. In all instances where sick leave with pay is requested by an employee for a period of tiMe exceedin~ three (3) days a physician's certificate must be filed with the Board by such employee before said sick leave with full pay is recommended. Said certificate shall show that such employee was unable to assume his duties with the City durin~ the time for which sick leave ,dth pay is requested and shall state that in the opinion of the physician such employee is a~9in physically able to resume his duties with the City. SECTION3. fhe City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution.
