RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA
INCREASING COMPENSATION OF CERTAIN EMPLOYEES OF SAID CITY OF
ARCADIA, EFFECTIVE FEBRUARY 1, 1943.
THE CITY .COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DOES RESOLVE AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION l. That as of February l, 1943, the sal~of the
following named employees shall be and are hereby increased as

SECTION 2.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all salary increases
made as herein provided, with the exception of that portion of the
salary increases in excess of Ten ($10.00) Dollars to Patrolmen
V.E.Mayne, R.H.Wa11ace and A.E.Morris, are made as an emergency

increase to compensate said employees for the unusual increase in
costs of living mil de necessary by the war emergency, and such increases
shall not be considered as merit increases, but shall continue for the
duration of the present war only.
SECTION 3. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Order of this Council
made January 19, 1943, increasing the weekly hours of labor in the
classifications of equipment operator laborers, custodian, and municipal
laborers, be and ~he same is hereby rescinded and that employees in
said classifications shall be required to work forty-four.(44) hours
in each week for the salaries herein fixed; in the event any employee
in any of said clnssifications is required for any reason to labor for
a greater number of hours in anyone week than the amount set out herein,
he shall be entitled to time off equal to the number of hours done in
excess of forty-four (44) hours per week without reduction in salary.

SECTION 4. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Minute Order made by
this Council on January 5, 1943, providing that time and one half over
time be paid to all members of the Fire Department other than Chief,
who in emergency cases are obliged to work to the extent that such
members are not allowed four working shifts off in each month, and
providing that st~h time and one half over time should be predicated
on a salary of Or.e Hundred Forty ($140.00) Dollars per month, be and
the same is hereby rescinded effective January 31, 1943.

a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia, held on
the 2nd day of February, 1943, by the affirmative vote of at least
three Councilmen, to-wit:
