RESOLUTIOn OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA APPROVUG THE ACTION OF
THE HOMENS AUXILIAJr.[ mITT #55, OF THE DISABLED Al!ERIC:lli VETERAUS
IN ITS REQUEST THAT THE HOSPITAL COORDINATION CONSTRUCTION COLj}'iITTEE
CAUSE THE IMFEDIATE CONSTRUCTION OF A HOSPITAL IN Tm; FOOTHILLS
ADJACENT TO THF: CITY OF ARCADIA.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DOES RESOLVE AS
FOLLO~~'S:
SECTION 1. WHEREAS, this Council is advised that on the
22n d day of August, 1943, the Womens Auxiliary Unit ~'55, Disabled
American Veterans adopted a Resolution requesting the Hospital
Coordination Construction Committee, and General Frank T. Hynes as
Administrator, to at once begin the construction of hospital or
hospitals in the foothill territory adjacent to the City of Arcadia,
for the hospitalization of disabled American Veterans, and
\lHEREAS, this Council concurs i n the opinion of the '.70Llens
Auxuliary Unit #55, that the said territory furnishes. an ideal site
for the location of fluch hospital or hospitals,
NOr:, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that this Council does her4lby
approve the action of said Uomcns Auxiliary Unit # 55, D~bled American
Veterans, in requesting that such hospital or hospitals be constructed
in the foothill territory adjacent to the City of Arcadia.
SECTION 2.
The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Resolution.
I horeby certify that the foregoing Resolution vas adopted
at a
regular
meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia,
held on the 21s11iay of September, 1943, by the affirmative vote of at
least three Councilmen, to-vit:
AYES: Councilmen, Adcock, Jones, Leeper, Nugent and Ormsby
