RESOLUTION NO. 1133..
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA
ORDERING CERTAIN WORK AND IMFROVEl.lENT TO BE DONE ON A PORTION OF
LONGDEN AVENUE IN SAID CITY OF ARCADIA.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DO~S RESOLVE AS
FOLLO.uS:
SECTION 1. That the public interest and convenience require
that certain ~ork and improvement be done in the City of Arcadia, and
the City Council of the City of Arcadia hereby orders the same to be
done according to Specifications and Improvement Plan No. C-162, on
file in the office of the City Engineer of said City of Arcadia, adopted
for said work and under the direction and to the satisfaction of the
Superintendent of Streets of said City of Arcadia; that Resolution of
Intention No. 1121 heretofore adopted by this Council on the 17th
day of June, 1941, contains a complete description of the work and
improvement to be done pursuant to this Resolution and reference is
hereby made to said Resolution of Intention No. l121 for a complete
description of said work and improvement.
SECTION 2. That the grade to which the work hereinabove de-
scribed shall be done and the improvement made as provided in this
Resolution, is shown on Profile and ~provement .Plan No. C-162, on
file in the office of the City Engineer of said City to which Profile
.reference is hereby made for the description of such grade.
SECTION 3. All the foregoing work shall be done in accordance
with said Profile and Improvement Plan No. C-162 on file in the office
of the City Engineer of said City of Arcadia.
All work on grading and the construction of concrete curbs
shall be in accordance with the following Specifications on file in the
office of the City Clerk of said City of Arcadia, to-wit: " Standard
Specifications No. 0 for the construction of curbs, sidewalks, gutters,
Oil Maca'lam pavement and concrete pavement."
Said Profile and L~prove~ent Plan No. C-l62, and Specifications
hereinabove referred to were adopted by Resolution No. lll9 of said City
Council of the City of Arcadia, and the same are hereby made a part of
this Resolution and are hereby referred to for a more particular de-
scription of said work.

All streets and avenues referred to in this Resolution are
public streets and avenues of said City of Arcadia.
SECTION 4. That said contemplated work and improvement in the
opinion of the City Council of' said City of Arcadia, is of more than
local or ordinary public benefit and said City Council hereby makes the
expense of said work and improvement chargeable upon the District, which
District said City Council hereby declares to be the District benefited
by ,said work and improvement and to be assessed to pay the costs and
expenses thereof, which said District is completely described in Reso-
lu~ion of Intention No. lw2l, heretofore adopted by this Council on the 12th
day of June, 1941, and to which Resolution reference is hereby made for
a complete description of said District to be assessed to pay the,cost
and expense of said work and improvement.
SECTION 5. Said City Council also determines and declares that
Serial Bonds shall be. issued to repre!ent each assessment of Twenty-Five
(;,:25.00) Dollars, or more, remainin~ unpaid for thirty (30) days after
the date of the warrant to represent the expenses of said work and
improvement. Said Serial Bonds shall extend over a period ending nine
(9) years from the second day of January next succeeding the fifteenth
day of the next October following- their date and an even annual pro-
portion of the principal sum thereof. shall be payable b~- coupon on the
second day of January, every year after the fifteenth day of the .next
October following their date, until the whole is paid, and the interest
shall be payable semi-annually by coupon on the. second days of January
and July respectively of each year after their date at the rate of six
(6%) per cent per annum on all sums unpaid until the whole of said
principal and interest are paid. Said Bonds and interest thereon shall
be payable at the office of the City Treasurer of the City of Arcadia.
SECTION 6. All of the ,proceedings for the aforesaid work and
improvement and for the issuance of said Bonds shall be had and taken
,
urtder and in accordance with the provisions of an Act of the Legislature
of the State of California,. known and designated as the "ImprovelJlent Act
of 1911", approved April 7, 1911, and of all Acts supplementary thereto
or amendatory thereof.

SECTION 7. The Arcadia Tribune and Arcadia News, a weekly news-
paper of general circulation, published and circulated in said City of
Arcadia, is hereby designated as the newspaper in which notice of said \"Iork
and improvement inviting sealed proposals
shall be published in the
manner and form and by the persons required by law.
SBCTION 8.. The City Clerk of said City of Arcadia is hereby
directed to post c.onspicuously for five days, on or near the Council
Chamber door of .said City Council, in the manner and form requir'ed by
law, a notice, together with the Specifications therefor; inviting
sealed proposals or bids for doing said work and said City Clerk is also
directed to publish twice in said nel"lsraper deRisnated as aforesaid in the
manner and form re~uired by law, a notice inviting sealed proposals or
bids for doing said work, and referring to the Srecifications posted or on
file. Said notice shall require a certified check on bond, either, as
prescribed by law for an amount not less than ten ner cent of the .agr;regate
of the proposal.
Said sealed proposals or bids shall be delivered to the City
Clerk of said City of Arcadia on or before eight o'clock, P.M.,

. SECTI0N' 9. The City Clerk shall certify to the adopti,m of
this Resolution.
I hereby certify that the fore~oin~ Resolution was adopted at a regular
meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcsdia, held on the l5th day
of July, 1941, by the affi--'Illative vote of at least three Councilmen,
to-wit:
