A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA
LlODIFYING ITS PHBVIOUS ACTioN IN ADOPTING TIIE "ARCADIA'HIGII\'1AY PLAN"
HERETOFORE PREPARED BY THE REGIONAL PLANNING CrnilldISSION OF LOS ANGELES
COUNTY AND APPHCV1<lD BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TIill CITY OF ARCADIA" INSOFAR
AS SAID PLAN PERTAINS TO DUARTE ROAD IN SAID CITY OF ARCADIA..
THE CITY COUNCIL OF TIm CITY OF ARCADIA DO~S RESOLVE AS
FOLLO':lS:
SECTION 1. WHEREAS, , on. the 2nd day of January, 192~, the
Regional Planning Commission of Los Angeles County caused to be prepared
a County wide plan Of highways for the traffic needs of Los Angeles Coun~y,
and,
WHEREAS, the CitY Council 'o~ the City of Arcadia approved said
County wiae plan of' h:i.grlVlays for the developing of major and sub';'major
highways in and through the City of Arcadia, as set forth in Re.salution
No. 487 of said Co"ncil, adopted January 2, 1929, and
WHEREAS, on April 2, 1940, said Regional Planning Commission
caused to be submitted to thi.s Council a revised map 'of said ,plan,. known
as the "Master plan of Highways of ~he County of Los Anselesll, and
WHEREAS, the City Council did, by Minute Order, on April 2,
1940, approve said revised plan known as the "Master Plan of Highways
of the County of Los Angeles", arid.
WHEREAS, each 'of said plans as. submitted by said Regional
Planning Commission contemplates that Duarte Road within the City
limits of theC 1ty' of Arc'adia shall be a major highway of one hundred
(100' ) feet in width, and
WHEREAS, .since the approval or' said highway plans, the develop-
ment of property adjacent to Duarte Road within the City of Arcadia, has
been such tbat thifl Council deems it to be for the begt'interests of the

City of Arcadia that said Duarte Road within the C1.ty of Arcadia should

remain a hiEhway of' sixty (601') feet in width,
Non THERI;FORE, BE. IT. RESO~VED, that the action of this' Council
in the adopti()Ii of Reso'lution No~ 487 on .T.anuary 2, ,1929, and the action
of said Council on April 2, .1940; approving said highway plans; be
modified to the extent ,that Duarte Road within the ,City limits of the
City of Arcadia shall remain a high\'lay of sixty (60') feet in width and
no more.

BE IT FU~rHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be authorized and
he is he~eby instruotedto forward a certified copy of this Resolution-
to the Regional Pla~ning Commission of the County of Los Angeles.
SECTION 2~ The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
-this Resolution.
