A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COONCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA PROVIDING FOR THE HOLDING OF A GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION IN SAID CITY OF ARCADIA ON THE 14th DAY OF APRIL, 1942, PROVIDING FOR THE POLLING PLACES FOR THE HOLDING OF SUCH ELECTION, APPOINTING THE ELECTION OFFICERS FOR THE SAME AND FIXING THEIR COMPENSATION. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1: That a general municipal election be and the same is hereby culled to be held in said City of Arcadia on Tuesday, April 14, 1942, for the following purposes: For the purpose of electin~ the following officers to-wit: 1. Thre'3 members of the City Council of said City of Arcsdia to hold office for t he full term or period of four years from and after the 21st dllY of April, 1942. SECTION 2. That the election precincts last established and designated within said City of Arcadia by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Loa Angeles, State of California, for the purpose of holding general '3lections and which sai,d" election precincts so establish- ed were and are designated as Arcadia City Precincts Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, lO, 11, 12, l3, l4, l1;., 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, and 22, respectively, sh!lll for the purpose of said general munic ipal elect ion be consolidated, designated and shall embrace all that part of said City of Arcadia as follows, to-wit: (a) Arcadia City Precinct No.1, Arcadia City Precinct No.14, Arcadia City Precinct No.18, and Arcadia City Precinct No.20 shall be consolidated and designated as Arcadia City Consolidated Precinct No.1, which said Arcadia City Consolidated Precinct No.1 shall consist of and be co-extensive with said Arcadia City Precincts Nos.l, 14, 18 snd 20. (b) Arcadia City Precinct No.2, Arcadia City Precinct NO.3, Arcadia City Pre(~inct No. 15 and Arcadia City Precinct No.19. shall be consolidated and designated as Arcadia City Consolidated Precinct No. 2, which said Ar(~adia City Consolidated Precinct No.2 shall consist of and be co-extensive with said Arcadia City Precincts Nos. 2, 3, 15 and 19. (c) Arcadia City Precinct No.5, Arcadia City Precinct No.6, Arcadia City Prec:inct No.7 and Arcadia City Precinct No.22 shall be -1- consolidated and designated as Arcadia City Consolidated Precinct NO.3, which said Arcadia City Consol idated Precinct N:,o. 3 shall consist of and be co-extensive with said Arcadia City Precincts Nos. 5, 6, 7 and 22. (d) Arcadia City Precinct No.4 as established for hOlding State or County elections shall be designated as Arcadia City Precinct No.4 for the purpose of this election. (e) Arcadia City Precinct No.8, Arcadia City Precinct No.17 and Arcadia City Precinct No.2l shall be consolidated and designated as Arcadia City Consolidated Precinct No.5, which said Arcadia City Con- solidated Precinct No.5 shall consist of and be co-extensive with said Arcadia City Precincts Nos. 8, 17 and 21. (f) Arcadia City Precinct No.9, Arcadia City Precinct No.lO and Arcadia City Precinct No.l6 shall be consolidated and designated as Arcadia City Consolidated Precinct No.6, which said Arcadia City Con- solidated Precinct No.6 shall consist of and be co-extensive with said Arcadia City Precincts Nos. 9, 10 and 16. (g) Arcadia City Precinct No.ll, Arcadia City Precinct No.12 and Arcadia City Precinct NO.13 shall be consolidated and designated as Arcadia City Consolidated Precinct No.7, which said Arcadia City Con- solidated Precinct No.7 shall consist of and be co-extensive with said Arcadia City Precincts Nos. 11, 12 and 13. SECTION 3. That the respective polling places for the holding of said general municipal election and the respective officers of said election are hereby designated and named as follows, to-wit: ARCADIA CITY CONSOLIDATED PRECINCT NO.1 POLLING PLACE, American Legion Hall, situate at NO.720 North First Avenue in said City of Arcadia. Ingram SECTION ;1.1 That the Polls for said election shlillbe opened at 6:00 o'clock A.M., Pacific War Time (5:00 o'clock A.M., Pacific Coast Standard Time) on the day of said election am shall remain open con- tinuously from snid time until 7:00 0 'clock P.M., Pacific War. Time (6:00 o'clock P.M. Pacific Coast Standard Time), of the same day. SECTION 5~ That said general municipal election shall be held in accordance with the provisions of the Election Code of the State of California, pertaining to Cities of the sixth class, and with the general election laws of the State of California insofar as the same may be applicable. SECTION 6. That the compensation to be paid to each of said officers of election for all services by each of said officers to be rendered at said general municipal election, shall be and the same is hereby fixed at the sum of $7.00. SECTION 7.t That said City Council will meet at its usual place of meeting on Tue!lday, April 21, 1942, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock P.M., ~ic~~io'War Time (7:00 o'clock P.M., Pacific Coast Standard Time), to canvass the returns of said election and declare the results thereof. SECTION 8. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution.
