HomeMy WebLinkAbout1191 RESOLUTION NO. 1191 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CI TY OF ARCADIA DETERMINING THE NlLTURE, LOCATION AND EXTENT OF THE PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION OF CONCRETE CURBS, CONCRETE GUTTERS AND OIL MACADAM PAVEMENT ON LAS FLORES AVENUE, IN THE CITY OF ARCADIA, DEFINING THE BOUDDARIES OR EXTENT OF THE DIS~~RICT OR LAlIDS TO BE SPECIALLY ASSESSED TO PAY THE COST THEREOF AND DETERMINING THE STATUTE U}IDER WHICH SAID PROCEEDINGS SHALL BE CONDUCTED. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLI.01JS : SECTION 1. That the pub1io interest, convenience and necessity require that concrete curbs, concrete gutters and oil maoadam pavement be constructed upon and along Las Flores Avenue, in said City. SECTION 2. That pursuant to the provisions of an Act of the Legislature of the State of California, designated as the "Special Investigation. Limitation and Majority Protest Act of 1931", as amended. it is hereby determined that the nature, location and extent of the proposed concrete curbs, concrete gutters and oil macadam pavement shall be in accordance with the Plans and Specifications heretofore prepared by the City Engineer of the City of Arcadia, designated as Plan No. C-165. Sheet I, which were, on ~, 1942, filed with the Clerk of this Council, hereby made to sai<1 Plans and Specificati ons s.o filed said plans being the "2. r\~ day of ~ and reference is for all particulars relative to the nature, location and extent of' said proposed improvement. and it is hereby ordered that said Plans and Spe cificati ons be made open to the inspection of any person or persons desiring to inspect the same. SECTION :3. That the boundary of the district to be specially assessed to .pay thll cost of said improvement shall include all those lots fronting on and ad,jacent to Las Flores Avenue between Santa Anita Avenue and the Westerly tllrmination of said Las Flores Avenue, and is more par- ticularly describeil as follows: All that port:Lon of the s.aid City of Arcadia, County of Los Angeles, State of California, included within the following described exterior boundary line, to-wit: Beginning at 1;he intersection of the center line of Santa Anita Avenue with the Easterly prolongation of the Southerly line of Tract No. 9860, as shown on map recorded in Book 139, Page 3 of MapEl, recollds of said Los Angeles County; thence Westerly in a direct line to the intersection of the Westerly prolongation of the Southerly line of said Tract No. 9860 with the Ilester1y line of vacated E1 Campo Avenue, as desoribed in Ordinanoe No. 285 of said City of Arcadia; thence Northerly along the Qester1y line of Baidvacated E1 Campo Avenue to its intersection with the crester1y pro1opgation of the Northerly line of said Tract No. 9860; thence Easterly in a direet line to the inters,ection of the Easterly prolongation of the North- erly line of said Tract No. 9860 with the oenter line of Santa Anita Avenue; thence Southerly along said center line to the place of beginning. The foregoing description is general oniy. A plat or map of said District indioating by a boundary line the extent of the lands in- eluded in the proposed Assessment District is on file in the office of the City Engineer of the City of Arcadia. Referenoe is hereby made to said plat or ma~ for a fUrther, fUll and complete description of said Assessment District, whioh said plat or map is designated as Assessment District No. U-37; and said map so on file shall govern for all details as to the extent of such Assessment District. SECTION 4. It is hereby determined that the proposed improve- ment and all proceedings for the issuance aDd payment of Street Improve- ment Bonds representing assessments for the cost thereof, and provisions for all other acts necessary to conduct the proposed proceedings shall be conducted under the pI' ovisions of an Act of the Legislature of the State of California designated as the "Improvement Act of 1911lt, approved 1911, as amended. SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia, held on the 1ih- day of July ,1942, by the affirmative vote of at least three Councilmen, to-wit: AYES: Councilmen Kdcock, Jones, Leeper, Nugent ard Ormsby NOES: None ABSENT: None -~~.~ day of J1l1 v . 1942.
