RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. 113.
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF AR-
CADIA DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO IMPROVE A PORTION OF GENOA STREET
IN SAID CITY OF ARCADIA AND DETERMINING THAT SERIAL BONDS SHALL BE
ISSUED TO REPRESENT THE COST THEREOF AND FIXING A TIllE AND PLACE FOR
HEARING OBJECTIONS TO THE PROPOSED WORK OR IMPROVEUENT.
THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DO RESOLVE
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTIONl: That the public interest and convenience re-
quire and it is the intention of the Board of Trustees of said City
of Arcadia to order the following street work and improvement to be
done in said City of Arcadia, to-wit:
First: That a cement sidewalk five (5) feet in width be
constructed along Genoa Street from the Easterly line of Santa Anita
Avenue to the Westerly line of Second Avenue where no such sideualk
now exists, including returns at the intersection of said Genoa
Street and First Avenue.
Second: That cement curbs be constructed along said,por-
tion of said Genoa Street where no such curbs now exist, incl~ing
returns at the intersection of said Genoa Street and First Avenue
and also at the intersections of said Genoa Street and those two
Alleya extending Southerly from said portion of said Genoa Street.
Third: That reinforced, concrete, ornamental street light-
ing standards, together with wires, pipes, conduits, globes, lamps,
and appliances for lighting said Genoa Street, be installed along
each side of said portion of said Genoa Street.
SECTION 2: That the grade to which the work shall be done
and the improvement made as provided in this Resolution, is that
shown on Profile and Improvement Plan No. 0-113, on file in the
office of the City Engineer of said City, to which said Profile
reference is hereby made for the description of such grade.
SECTION 3: All of the foregoing work shall be done in
accordance with said Profile and Improvement Plan No. C-113 on file
in the office of the City Engineer of said City of Arcadia.
Said work shall also be in accordance ~ith the following
Specifications on file in the office of the City Clerk of said Oity
of Arcadia, to-~it:

2 curbs, sidewalks, gutters and oil macadam pavements;

Standard Specifications No. 1 for the installation of
4 street lighting standards, wires, condui ta and all ,'accessory fix-
5 tures thereto.
Profile and
6 Sai~Improvement Plan No. C-113 and the Specifications
7 hereinabove specified were adopted by Resolution No. 112 of said
8 Board of Trustees and same are hereby made a part of this Resolution
9 and are hereby referred to for a more particular description of said
10 work.

All Streets and Alleys referred to in this Resolution are
12 public streets and alleys of said C~ty of Arcadia.

SECTION 4: Said Board of Trustees also determines and
14 declares that serial bonds shall be issued to represent each assess-
15 ment of Twenty-five ($25.00) Dollars or more remaining unpaid for
16 twenty (20) days after the date of the warrant to represent the ex-
17 penses of said work and improvement. Said serial bonds shall extend
18 over a period ending nine (9) years from the second day of January
19 next succeeding the fifteenth day of the next November following
20 their date and an even annual proportion of the principal sum there-
21 of shall be payable, by coupon, on the second day of January every
22 year after the fifteenth day of the next November following their dat ,
23 until the whole is paid and the interest shall be payable semi-a.nnual Y"
24 by coupon, on the seconddays of January and July respectively, of
25 each year after their date at the rate of seven (7) per cent per an-
26 num on all sums unpaid until the whole of said principll and interest
27 ar e paid.

SECTION 5: Notice is hereby given that on Wednesday, the
29 19th. day of December, 1923, at the hour of eight o'clock P. M. of
30 said day, in the Council Chamber of the Board of Trustees of said Cit
31 of Arcadia, in the City Hall of said City, any and all persons havin

32 any objections to said proposed work or improvemen~, or both, may

1 appear before said Board of Trustees and Show cause why said propose
2 improvement should not be carried out in accordance'with this Resolu
3 tion.
4 SECTION 6: All the proceedings for the aforesaid work and
5 improvement and for the issuance of said bonds shall be had and take
6 under and in accordance with the provisions of an Act of the Legis-
7 lature of the State of California, known and designated as the "Im-
8 pr~vement Act of 191111, approved April 7, 1911, a.nd of all Acts su~

9 plementary thereto or amendatory thereof.

10 .", SECTION 7: The Superintendent of Streets shall cause to
11 be ,conspicuously posted along the line of said contemplated ITork or
. 12 improvement, notices of the passage of this Resolution in the time,

SECTION 8: The City Clerk shall certify to the passage
15 of this Resolution and shall cause the same to be published twice
16
in The Arcadia Journal, a weekly newspaper published and circulated
17 in said City of Arcadia and hereby designated for that purpose. Said
18 Board of Trustees does not deem it advisable that the City Clerk
19
mail copies of "Notice of Improvement" to the owners or reputed own-
ers of property and the mailing of such notices is hereby dispensed
with.

The foregoing Resolution was adopted at a regular meeting
of the Board of Trustees of said City of Arcadia, held on the 21st.

24 day of November, 1923, by the affirmative vote of at least three
25
Trustees, to-wit:
AYES: Trustees Dunham, Multer, Wheeler and Winkler.
NOES: None.
