RESOLUTION NO. 155. w -~-- A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO SELL BONDS. WHEREAS, it is necessary for the carrying out of the pur- poses set forth in Ordinance No. 145 of said City of Arca.dia, passe and adopted September 3, 1924, at a regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of said City, to issue and offer for sale and to sell the bonds in said Ordinance No. 145 ordered to be issued, as herein- after mentioned; and WHEREAS, it is deemed advisable and the City Olerk of said City ~s directed to advertise for sale the entire issue of said Bonds designated in said Ordinance No. 145, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that it is the intention of the Board of Trustees of said City of Arcadia to issue and sell all of said Bonds by said Ordinance No. 145 directed to be issued, to-wit: Arcadia Street Bonds, 1924, numbered 1 to 240, both in- I in the sum of $225,000.00; l' Said Bonds being of the denominations as in said Ordinanc No. 145 set forth; elusive, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk of said City of Arcadia be directed to advertise for sale to the highest bidder, the entire issue of said Bonds, to-uit: ~Arcadia Street Bonds, 1924" in the sum of Two Hundred I and Twenty-five Thousand ($225,000.00) DOllars, in conformity with I that certain "Notice Inviting Sealed Proposals", published for at I I least three successive weeks in The Arcadia Journa.l, a weekly news-i paper published and circulated in said City of Arcadia, and by suc~ I other notices as said City Clerk may be advised are most likely to give notice to prospective purchasers. '--- . "NOTICE INVI1'ING SEALED PROPOSALS". NOTICE OF THE SALE OF BONDS OF THE CITY OF ~~CADIA, IN THE SUM OF TWO HUNDRED AND TPENTY-FIVE THOUSAND ($225,000.00) Dol- lars. Sealed proposals will be received by the undersigned City Clerk of the City of Arcadia, County of Los Angeles, state of Cal- ifornia, at the office of said City Clerk, in the City Hall of said City of Arcadia, California, until the hour of eight o'clock P.M. of October 8, 1924, for the purchase of Bonds of said City, as follows: "Arcadia Street Bonds, 1924" in the sum of Two Hundred and Twenty-five Thousand ($225,000.00) Dollars. I That said "Arcadia Street Bonds, 1924" shall be 240 in I number; that thereof 210 bonds numbered from 1 to 210, both incIUS-! I ive, sh&ll be issued in the denomination of $1000.00 each, and tha~ thereof 30 of said bonds,- numbered from 211 to 240, both inclusive" shall be issued in the denomination of $SOO.OO each and all of saiJ Bonds shall be dated November 1, 1924, and shall be payable at the office of the City Treasurer of the City of Arcadia, in the City of Arcadia, California, as follows: Seven of said bonds of the denomination of $1000.00 and one of said bonds of the denomination of eSOO.OO shall be on the 1st. day of November of each and every year, beginning ember 1, 1925,until all of said bonds shall be fully paid. That all of said bonds shall bear interest at the rate I of five per cent per annum, payable semi-annually on the first day I I of November and the first day of May of each and every year, be- each I , paid, l1ov- I ginning May 1, 1925, at the office of said City Treasurer and the principal and interest thereof shall be payable in lawful money of the United States of America, at the office of said City Treas- urer of said City of Arcadia. No proposal for said bonds will be entertained for less than face value, together with accrued interest to date of sale of said bonds. Each proposal must be accompani~'by a certified check drawn upon some responsible bank of the State of California and payable to the City Treasurer of the said City of Arcadia for a sum not less than $5000.00 as a guarantee of the bidder to pur- chase and pay for said Bonds in accordance with his proposal, in the event such bid is accepted. Proposals shall be addressed to the City Clerk of the Ci ty of Arcadia and be endors,ed lIProposal for Purchase of lIArcadia I Street Bonds, 1924". ~ne Board of Trustees of said City reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any formality in any bid, asl I I the interest of said City may require.
