RESOLUTION NO. '1048
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA
ACCEPTING OFFER 01" JENNIE M. MOORE FOR CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY arlNED
BY SAID CITY, AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF GRANT DEED CONVEYING
SAID REAL PROPERTY.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DOES RESOLVE AS
FOLLO'.:S:
SECTION 1. WHEREAS, the City of Arcadia is the owner of
approximately 1.31 acres of vacant real property lying between Sierra
Madre Wash Channel and Perkins Drive, westerly from Santa Anita Avenue,
which said real property is particularly described as follows:
All that real property in the City of Arcadia, County
of Los Angeles, state of California, described as:
All that portion of Lots 5 and 6, Block 97, Santa Anita
Tract, a:3 shown on map recorded in Book 34, Pages 41 and
42, Miscellaneous Records of said County, included within
the following described exterior boundary line:
Beginning at a p~int in the Southerly line of Lot 1, Tract
No. 7473, as shown on map recorded in Book 93, Pages 51
and 52 of' Maps, records of said County; said point being
distant 63.74 feet Northwesterly from the most Southerly
corner of said lot; said point being also the apgle point
in the Northerly line of Lot 7, Tract No. 11305, as shown
on map recorded in Book 199, Page 18 of Maps, records of
said County; thence Northwesterly along the Southwesterly
boundary line of said Tract No. 7473, to the Northwesterly
corner of aforesaid Lot 6, Block 97, Santa Anita Tract;
thence Southerly along the Westerly line of said Lot 6,
to the NOl'theasterly line of that certain 50 foot wide
easement [;ranted by the City of Arcadia to the Los Angeles
County Flood Control District, recorded in Book 16578, Page
20 of Official Records of said County; thence Southeasterly
along said Northeasterly easement line to its intersection
with the Northerly line of Lot 7, Tract No. 11305 aforesaid;
thence Easterly along the Northerly line of said Lot 7 to
the point of beginning,

WHEREAS, the City has received a cash offer from Jennie
M. Moore, 0. widow, in the sum of FIVE HUNDRED ($500.00) DOLLARS for
said real property, and
WHEREAS, this council believes said offer to be equal to
the fair market value of said property, and
WHEREAS., it is deemed to be for the best interests of the
City of Arcadia that said offer of said Jennie M. Moore be accepted, and
WHEREAS,. there has been presented to this council a form of
Deed for use in transferrine title to said property,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT R2S0LVED, that the offer of said Jennie
M. Moore, of the sum of FIVE HUNDRED ($500.00) DOLLARS, for payment in
full for the real property described herein, be, and the same is hereby
accepted.
BE IT FU3THER RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Clerk be
instructed, and thl~y are hereby authorized to execute said Grant Deed,
a copy of which is hereto attached, for and on behalf of the City of
Arcadia.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk be instructed and
he is hereby authorized to procure at City expense, a policy of title
insurance showing title to be vested in said Jennie M. Moore, free of
all liens and encumbrances except those set out in said Grant Deed.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this Resolution.
