A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA
AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION BY TID:: :1kYOR Al:D CITY CL:,RK OF PETITION

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DOES RESOLvE AS F'OLLO~iS:
SECTION 1. VrnEREAS, the City of Arcadia is the owner of 178.81
acres, more or less, of territory, which territory is oontiguous to
the City of Arcs,dia, and
WHErlEAS, tl:is Council deems it to be for the best interest of the
City of Arcadia that said territory be incorporated, annexed and in-
cluded within the boundaries of the City of Aroadia, and
VmEREAS, this Council has caused to be prepared a Petition
directed to the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los An~eles,
State of California, requesting the annexation of said torritory to
the City of Arcajia, and
WHEREAS, said Petition is attached to this Resolution and by
reference made a part hereof,
NOI'I, THEREFI)RE, BE IT RESOLVED, that tle Mayor and City Clerk
be authorized and they are hereby instructed to execute said Petition
for and on behal:f of this Council.
BE IT FURTm~R RB~OLVED, that the City Clerk be authorized and he is
hereby directed .~o file said petition together with a certified oopy of
this Resolution Ilith the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los
Angeles, State of California.
SECTIOfL.,g,. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this Resolution.
I uereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was adopted at a re~ulsr
meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia, held on the 21st day

STATE OF CALIFOnNIA:
YOUR PETITIONER respectfully represents as follows:
I.
That ~rour petitioner 1& the City Council and the Legislative
Body of the Cit~T of Arcadia. a municipal corporation, of the State of
California. Thllt said City is located in the County of Los AngelesJ
that said municlpal corporation was, in the year of 1903 incorporated
as a City of thf) sixth class, under the General Laws of the State of
California, Sta~,utes of 1883, Page 93, as amended.
II.
That ~rour petitioner desires to annex. incorporate and
include in the C:ity of Arcadia. new contiguous territory. which said
contiGuous terr~ltory is owned by said City of Arcadia.
III.
That i,he said territory desired to be annexed is situated
in the County o;~ Los An3eles, State of California. and borders on the
present bound~T line of the City of Arcadia at Sixth Avenue North of
Live Oak Avenue and extends Easterly to Santa Anita Wash; thence
Southerly along the Westerly side of Santa Anita Wash approximately
one half mile to include territory in and adjacent to the Rio Hondo
Channel from Pe(}k Road Westerly for approximately three quarters of
a mile. comprising all of those portions of Arcadia Acrea3e Tract as
per map recorded in Book 10 Pa3e 18 of Maps; Tract 7465 as per map
recorded in Boole 84 Page 98 of Maps; GOldworthy's Subdivision of the

Westerly two-thirds of the Rancho San Francisquito as per map recorded
in Book 42 Pages 93 and 94, Miscellaneous Records; and E.J. Baldwin's
Subdivision of Lots 15-20 and 29-35 of Rancho San Francisquito as per
map recorded in Book 42 Page 86, Miscellaneous Records; all Records ot
the County of Los An3eles and on file in the office of the County
Recorder of said Coun~, more particularly described as follows, to-wit:
Beginning at the intersection of the Southeasterly boundary line
of the City of Arcadia with the Westerly prolon3ation of the Northerly
line of that certain parcel of land described in deed recorded in Book
18097 Page 217. Official Records of said County; thencs Easterly along
said Westerly pro16ngation and the Northerly line of said parcel of
land to the Northeasterly corner ther~of; thence Southerly along the
Easterly line of said parcel and its Southerly prolongation to its
intersection with the center line of Live Oak Avenue (100 feet wide);
thence Easterly along said center line of Live Oak Avenue to its
intersection with the Northerly prolongation of the Easterly line ot
Lot B, Tract No. 7465, as per map recorded in Book 84 Page 98 of Maps
in the office of the County Recorder of said County; thence southerly
along said Northerly prolonGation and the Easterly line of said Lot B
to the Southeasterly corner thereof; thence Westerly along the South-
erly line of said Lot B, 45.87 feet, more or less. to the most
Northerly corner of that certain parcel of land described in deed re-
corded in Book 18136 Page 31, Official Records of said County: thence
South 100 23' 35ft East along the Easterly line of said parcel 890.23
feet: thence South 20 03' 07" East 119.23 feet to an angle point in
the Northerly line in that certain parcel of land described in deed
recorded in Book 10705 Page 55, Official Records of said County; thence
North 670 56' 20ft East along the Northerly line of said parcel of
land 2630.23 feet to the most Northerly corner thereof, said point
being in the Westerly line of Peck Road (60 feet wide); thence continu-
ing along the boundary of last mentioned parcel of land the following
COurSBS and distances: South 220 02' 08" West along the Westerly
line of Peck Road 2330.00 feet: thence North 850 05' 19" West 263.58
feet: thence South 580 48' 14ft West 302.76 feet; thence South 400 22'

140 031 15ft Easl; 34.00 feet to an angle point in said boundary, said
point being the mOst Southerly corner of the aforementioned parcel
of land described in deed recorded in Book 18136 Page 31, Official
Records of said County; thence continuing North 140 031 15" East
1346.21 feet to an angle point in the boundary line of said last
mentioned land; thence along said boundary line as follows: South
760 071 55" Eas1; 415.39 feet; North 210 071 05" East 1075.14 feet;
and North 560 5~!1 05" East 5.71 feet, more or less, to the South-
westerly corner of aforesaid Lot B, Tract No. 7465; thence Northerly
along the Westerly line of said Lot B and its Northerly prolon.:ation
to its intersection with the center line of lAlve Oak Avenue (100 feet
wide); thence Es.sterlyalong said center line of Live Oak Avenue to
its intersection. with a line which is parallel with the Westerl1 line
of Lot 126, Arcsdia Acrea~e Tract, as per map recorded in Book 10
page 18 of Maps in the office of the County Recorder of said County,
which line passes through a point in the Southerly line of said Lot
126 distant thereon 50 feet Westerly from the Westerly line of the
. easement for flood control purposes described in the deed recorded
in Book 17363 Page 299, Official Records of said County; thence
Northerly along said parallel line to its intersection with a line
which is parallel with and distant Southerly 50 feet from the North-
erly line ot the aforesaid parcel of land described in deed recorded
in Book 18097 Pa,ge 217, Official Records of said County; thence
Westerly along said parallel line and its Westerly prolon3ation to
a point in the c"nter line of Sixth Avenue (60 feet wide); thence
Northerly along~he center line of said Sixth Avenue to its inter-
section with the Southeasterly boundary line of the City of Arcadia;
thence Northeastorly thereon to the point of beginning, containing
178.81 acres, mo:~e or less.
